Greater than one weekpros: - its pokemon!hawaii, which is cool - lots of new grass, fairy, and ground pokes that are very cute and interesting typing - breeding is now a billion times faster & easier thanks to the blessed inclusion of a visual display of each IV via an in-computer judge option - the legendaries are extremely easy to catch - now even more and cuter animations for all pokes! - 1st obviously fanservice DILFy professor - you can multiply your berries, hatch eggs / enhance friendship score, do EV training, collect pokemon amie / refresh affection items through the poke pelago system which is very convenient and brings a nice little check in element like berry bush farming used to be except not horribly boring and annoying - god finally organizing your item bag is a realized thing and its really easy with the free space pocket - seems like a lot of boxes at first but you only get like 16 which is pretty crap cons: - way too short - cant go beyond alola - no kanto, johto, hoenn, or anything else... :( and gamefreak still doesnt seem to comprehend the massive moneymaker downloadable game expansions are - no fertilizer for berries & no hybrids - the festival plaza thing should be cool but its actually really tedious and painful; to even get close to instating a decent facility for like, EV training or item purchase, you have to grind on these little quizzes and NPC check-ins that are charming at first but quickly lose interest - daycare lady is now a young cowgirl with blonde pigtails instead of an old lady but for some reason takes twice as long to waddle back and forth retrieving your pokemon - story is kind of boring :/ - have to wait until january for pokemon bank ffs

13-06-2025I havent beaten it yet, but I have logged in over 26 hours so far. I have to say that overall, I am really enjoying this generation. There are a lot of nice quality of life improvements to help make the gameplay better. The biggest would have to be the removal of HMs. No longer will I have to sacrifice a 6th slot for a HM Slave, nor teach HMs to my other members that I do not want there. The plot is decent, nothing mind-blowing or shocking, but a really nice addition to help move the game along. The Trials aspect is also something I really enjoy. Instead of gyms, you undergo trials that can be anything from seeking out certain pokemon, taking pictures, aiding someone in repairing a terminal, or even concocting a meal to lure out a pokemon. Its refreshing to not have to deal with the same setup: enter a gym, fight several trainers, then defeat gym leader. The new Z system is also really fun. I actually prefer this over mega evolution as it feels more natural and you seem more involved with your pokemon partner. Mega evolution is nice, but it just felt really out of place. With Z, you appear to encourage and boost your pokemon to unleash a unique attack related to their type. All in all, I absolutely love this game and I am extremely pleased with the new additions. Im considering buying Sun so I can have an excuse to keep playing once I clear Moon.

> 3 dayI havent played a pokemon game since Pokemon Crystal. Thats a LOOONG time ago. I was hesitant on grabbing the next release of Pokemon, but I was curious to see how much it has changed and whatnot. Thankfully, not all full 700+ pokemon is required to capture to complete the Alola Pokedex and Im thankful for that feature. Im also glad that I dont need to be overwhelmed by other generations of Pokemon (at least not yet) when versing others. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that I do not regret spending my time and money on. Cant wait to hear about the Nintendo Switch announcement for pokemon!

> 3 dayPros. Graphics and sound have been greatly improved ! But if you are using an older model of the 3ds then the frame rate drops a little during battles . On the other hand the *new* 3DS handles things pretty well, you wont notice the frame drop as much. HMs are a thing of the past! No longer will we required to have HM slaves on adventure team! We can now page Ride Pokemon ! Need a bolder smashed out of the way? Summon Touros! Need to go for a swim? Summon Lapras or Sharpedo ! Need to fly? Summon Charizard! The only downside is that these are rental pokemon . You cant use your own . They also seem to be shiny locked as well. Kurts Apricorn Pokeballs have returned ! For the trainers out there who have dreamed of having 5th, 6th and now 7th gen pokemon in this special balls REJOYCE ! Love Ball Sylveon is a thing now! Moon Ball Rockruff is a thing! Keep in mind that Apricorn trees are not in game but you can find these special balls through out the game. Trainer Customization is back and better then ever ! First off! After 20 years we can finally take the damn hat off! YES ! There are more hairstyles for both boys and girls ! Girl trainers get to wear make up. White colored clothes can be dyed whatever color you want! Breeding mechanics have gotten an upgrade ! Male and Genderless Pokemon can now pass down their pokeballs if they are bred with Ditto ! Before it was females only ! The Day Care was replaced by the The Nursery . Pokemon will not level up and auto forget moves that you are trying to breed down . Because they dont level up in the Nursery its hella cheaper to boot! These games are more story driven then any other pokemon game! There a few flaws I do NOT like but Ill just have to deal with. GTS . Game Freak still has NOT figured out how to block people from asking for unreasonable trades. Like Caterpie for Arceus , for example . Not much backwards compatibility with 6th gen games . Theres NO way to trade directly between 6th and 7th gen games without Pokémon Bank . I myself and many others have tested this. Theres NO way to battle players who have 6th gen games either . But in the end , despite the flaws I still think these are solid games .

> 3 dayIts been several generations of pokemon and 20 years later since the original gameboy games but the formula hasnt changed much. You still go catch monsters, train them up, then prove youre the best. This new iteration however is in my opinion the best installment yet. The layout is simple and informative, for both casual and hardcore gamers alike. There are tons of new pokemon, as well as old pokemon with new forms,. The quality of the game is great as usual. It even changes up the pacing of the game by replacing the usual gyms with trials. Theres plenty of new and exciting content, and its all using 3D models now. There are a few downsides, but not many. Cons - Super training (for training EVs) is gone - 3D feature is unavailable, even on the 3DS - The old online connectivity has been replaced with a really confusing and lackluster Festival Plaza. It works, but its harder to navigate and find friends.

> 3 dayThe Pokemon series doesnt quite affect me like it used to (I was an absolute fanatic back in the day) but its still a great way to pass the time. Especially on a boring commute. Features/changes that I like: - HMs are finally not necessary - They brought back the fashion and customization options from X and Y (although I wish you could do more with trainer customization, even if its just more hairstyles) - The Pokedex has divisions by island so your progress is easier to see - The game world + characters are as lively as ever - 80 brand new Pokemon to catch, making the total reach a little over 800 - Making money and getting cool items is easier than ever with mini quest-like objectives that random NPCs give you. (e.g., catch this Pokemon and show it to me) Features/changes that I dont like: - The game telling you which moves are super/not/normally effective after encountering a Pokemon once. It makes the game too easy in my opinion, although I do see why it would be implemented - to make the game more accessible to new players who dont want to go back and memorize the typing of 800 Pokemon and their moves. This can absolutely be a pro to many, but a con for me personally. If youre a Pokemon fan its definitely worth your time.

> 3 dayGreat addition to the Pokemon family. This game has innovated on several fronts compared to the library of pokemon games. For example, for the first time ever, there are no badges, instead your character undergoes trials. This is refreshing after having played 20 years worth of pokemon games. Next, one major annoyance, especially in the last game, was the use of moves such as surf and fly to have in-game, out of battle effects. The problem was that these moves took up a valuable slot for battles. Pokemon has innovated, and de-coupled the moves needed, from your pokemon. So you can fly whenever you want, and not have to have a pokemon with fly in your group. Finally, this game has a very interesting story/plot. Overall, the game feels very fresh and fun.

> 3 dayThe best pokemon game I have played in several years. I have been a fan for 15 years and with the change to 3D I have not had a good time with it. X and Y was not that fun, while omega ruby and alpha sapphire I found to be a poor remake of the original, but I found Both Sun and Moon to be a refreshing new take to pokemon. It has it`s changes true and It has a rather slow start which to a series veteran was very annoying, but in the end I think it was a new and great change addition to the series.

Greater than one weekGreat game, my daughter went through it in no time
