ROXIO EASY CD & DVD

Roxio Easy CD & DVD software does not support MP4 file format even though their advertisement online says it supports ALL file formats. The customer service is inefficient and very, very, poor. I wouldnt recommend Roxio Easy CD & DVD software to anyone. Warning to the wise - STAY AWAY! You will be very disapointed.

Seriously, reading these reviews is making me wonder about which version of this product everyone is using. I am using version 10 and it does work in Windows 7 as well as XP without a problem. I purchased this product as a physical DVD copy at Wal Mart a couple of years ago. I have an Optiarc DVD RW and also an Hp DVD writer that I use when using this product. It also has a decent photo editor and also audio and video capture. Some of the items, which are many, in this product are not self explanatory, for example the movie maker. Any information you need is either under the Help tab or various places around the internet.

wish i read these before purchasing. It clearly is not a product the company is supporting. do not recommend. My free, five year old Nero program is much better!!!!

I FIND THAT NEITHER OF THE TWO DISCS WHICH I PURCHASED DOES THE JOB AS WELL AS MY OLD ROXIO BASIC, WHICH WAS LOST IN A COMPUTER CLEANUP SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. HAVING MISPLACED THE DISC, I ORDERED VERSION 10 WHICH DOES NOT WORK WITH MY COOL EDIT PRO, SO ORDERED THE ROXIO VERSION 5 AND GOT THE #5 PRO (NOT BASIC) WHICH LOOKS TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND DOES NOT WORK AS EASY AS THE OLD BASIC VERSIION. AFTER MANY HOURS OF TRYING TO DRAG MUSIC INTO THE BURNER FROM MY COOL EDIT PRO, AND TRYING TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, I HAVE GIVEN UP, BUT HAVE NOT BOUGHT ANOTHER BURNER YET. BUT I HAVE MUCH MUSIC WAITING TO BURN FOR MY WEBSITE MUSIC LINE (YOSEMITERADIO.COM) IAM ONLY INTERESTED IN MUSIC, NOT VIDEOS. THE MUSIC WAITING IS FROM OLDER VINYL WHICH I CLEAN UP AND USE ON THE WEB SHOW. THIS IS NOT A FAULT OF AMAZON. I AM JUST LOOKING FOR THE ROXIO BASIC 5.

Horrible program. I read that it will burn DVDs supported by DVD players so I bought it. I couldnt import ANY of the media formats I tried. Itll let you select multiple types, but then throw an error that it cant use that format. Waste of money!

Although Amazon has this item listed as Vista compatible, please be aware that it is not a happy couple! If you have Vista/7, or plan upgrading soon (Support for XP ends spring of 2014) Then I would suggest spending just a little more and buying at least the 2011 version which works like butter.

I purchased this Program just about last week of this June and from day 1 had issues burning CD-Rs. I have discussed this issue with several reps from the Corel Company regarding a fix and from my first online contact with their rep its been a freaking nightmare. FIRST the company is based in INDIA which really makes it easy to get through to them and when you do its 20 min of pure BS. It is now going on 2 weeks and still no help. DO yourselves a favor and look for a different burner then this one from the pure stand point of crap customer service. Thbere better and more reliable products then Corels Roxio. It was once a nice program, but like everything these days, NO one gives a dang about customer service, especially those companies based OUT of the USA. BE forewarned.

This product is not one that Roxio provides technical support for and customer support is even worse. Do not buy any Roxio product.

Updated Review on newer version (deleted older one) As far as I know, the latest (and probably last) version of Roxio Easy CD & DVD was Version 14.0.49.2. The version number is absent from product pages as to what version is now available which is very misleading. Even the Roxio forums are no help. Ive used Version 14 on Windows 7 and 8.1, the latter Im still using. I tried Windows 10, but promptly got rid of it when some of my programs would not run so I dont know if it worked in that version of Windows. I only use Roxio for backing up files even though it also has other programs for making music and video discs. For me it is enough. The only problem I have had is that theres a file in Roxio that interferes with a file in my Legacy Family Tree software so I get a prompt to install Roxio. This might be an incompatibility issue with Roxio because I dont have that problem with other software however it still performs backups without any issues. Im updating my grading of this version and not any of the previous versions. It was only about $20 so I couldnt expect anything more. If you want something to duplicate copyrighted material then youre looking in the wrong place.

Roxio Easy CD & DVD is anything but easy. Thats because it causes my PC to freeze and turns blank disks into trash. Even after I use the Task Manager to close frozen windows, the CD drive is locked shut until I reboot. This PC is less than six months old, and it doesnt have any hard drive or registry issues - at least it didnt before I loaded this software. Im really kicking myself for not taking a look at these reviews before I purchased this. The Windows Media Center software that came with my PC does it all better anyway. Live and learn.
