Smart Plug WiFi Outlet Work with Apple HomeKit, Siri, Alexa, Google Home, Refoss Smart Socket with Timer Function, Remote Control, No Hub Required, 15A, 2 Pack

I would highly recommend these for people who want to have a smart home at the fraction of a cost. I use these two plugs to control a lamp and my air purifier. I love that I have the capability to have my iPad as a home hub. I can leave my work, and say, Hey Siri, I am arriving home and everything turns on! This is a great addition for any device that is not a smart device.

Added them recently for Christmas decor lights and loved the ease of install/setup. Was able to create a “Christmas Scene” in Home and schedule it with automation. Will likely buy more.

Smart plug installs easily, works as expected. In all, a great device at an attractive price. Caveat: Uses Apple’s Home Kit, which makes programming the plug more complicated than necessary. If you want to program it to turn on, you first have to define a “scene,” choose a room, then identify the device.

Also requires it’s own app if not using Apple HomeKit. Btw, apple doesn’t use iPad as Hub anymore

I bought these back in September, and now that I’ve had to crawl up under 2 different pieces of furniture on 4 different occasions, I’m ready to review these. I only have a couple of lamps plugged into these. I can just walk into a dark room and ask Siri to turn on the light. Which is awesome. However… ever so often they get hung on “updating” and no matter what I have tried it always ends up with me crawling under the furniture to unplug these outlets so that I can remove them from the home app and reinstall. I’ve had to do it 4 times now. Outside of those annoyances I’ve got no complaints. I wouldn’t buy these particular smart outlets again though.

The Google device comparability is a little unreliable. You have to download an app for these outlets. Setup did not go smoothly. One of the outlets would not set up, but after I had left it alone for a while, it just worked. I keep getting prompted to install new firmware, but an unable. Theres a QR code on the outlet that doesnt work right and takes you to a Google search that takes you to an h&m product. Pretty sure that wasnt supposed to happen. The lights I have plugged in to these outlets sometimes turn themselves off on their own. Basically it works, but I wish I had paid double for the Phillips product, so it could work better, along with the various hue products I use.

It requires 2.4 Ghz wifi. As my router is setup on 5Hhz, I would have to switch to 2.4 Gz to communicate with the outlets. Pass. I should have returned these but missed return date.

These worked great! I’ve previously had trouble adding refoss products to homekit. This time they added ok following these steps: Force eero network into 2.4 ghz mode Disable Pi-hole Turn WiFi off and on to have iPhone reconnect to 2.4 ghz WiFi Add to home app by scanning code (fails) -but does get them on WiFi Download refoss app and update firmware on plugs Reset plugs by holding button for 5 seconds Add to home app again by scanning code: success!

The plugs were shipped and arrived within 2 day. I was able to connect the outlets easily with a Meross app I have from previous smart plugs I purchased. I likes that even though these were from a different company, I didnt have to download a new app to use them. The LED status light on the side changes color and flashes during the setup and use to allow you to know what state the plug is in. Once connected to my wifi network, my Alexa app detected it and I was easily able to set up routines and actions. Basically a set and forget plug that just work. I dont have Apple HomeKit but it works great with Alexa /Amazon Echo. Great plugs at a great price.

I like the easy installation but the ability to schedule lights off after 4 hours is not possible.
