The Beatles - The Beatles white album - Capitol Records - SWBO 101 VG+/VG

Its certainly deluxe and I havent even tried the Blu-Ray thingy yet. Nice book, though. Im convinced of the quality of the songs although at 50 years objectivity is impossible. Some of the demos were included in the long ago Anthology. You get the Giles Martin remix for the digital separation aficionados, although I found it a mixed blessing. For example Sexy Sadie is mostly improved but the strange initial percussion is absent. I much prefer the original mixes of Savoy Truffle and Cry Baby Cry and havent made up my mind about some others. I expect many of the demos will entertain listeners. These fellows really worked hard.

Nothing greater than the Beatles

Man hört es. Der gute Giles Martin hat sich größte Mühe gegeben, die Originalaufnahmen von 1968 so neu abzumischen, dass sie wie ein 2018 Release klingen. Es ist ihm im Großen und Ganzen auch gut gelungen. Die Bässe sind tighter, die Gesänge klarer und isolierter, die Gitarren-Riffs vordringlicher. Für jemanden, der in den 2000 geboren ist und das Original noch nie gehört hat, mag es selbstverständlich besser klingen.

I used to refer to Abbey Road as my favorite Beatles album, but this remastered release of The Beatles has changed my mind. This is The Beatles at their finest.
