Trezor cold storage is a fantastic device and far more secure than storing crypto currencies on the web or on software wallet. Easy to setup. The web based software its great but, I have few complains: - The bitcoin wallet is far more informative then the other crypto currencies (Litecoin, Dash, ...). With bitcoin you can see the value of your bitcoin in dollar based on the current exchange value. There is nice chart that shows wallet value overtime. - All wallets list all transactions instead of paginating them, which is is very common situation when mining daily. The page loads slowly. The solution suggested by Trezor of moving funds to multiple wallets is not practical. - Ethereum is supported via third party wallet, not great. - Monero is not supported .... sight!

So I ordered the Trezor wallet with the double ended micro usb cable. I tried connecting it to my phone first. It would not power up. I then tried the laptop. Still the same issue. Turns out the cable was bad. I switched to the regular USB cable to the laptop. It worked but I had to play with it a little I heard the connect chime. The setting up of the firmware is pretty quick and simple. You have 2 times to copy down your seed words. 1st time write them down. 2nd time review they are correct. Thats all pretty quick too. The pro is the UI is pretty issue to use. Already transferwd money from other wallet. My issue right now is that I cant use the microUSB cable. So I cant use it on my phone which was the whole damn point. In the over all still happy with the purchase of the Trezor for the security factor.

TL;DR it is important to responsibly store your keys, so get them offline. A Trezor is a safe and easy way to do so. I started looking into buying a hardware wallet about a year ago after watching Andreas Antonopoulos talk about tiered storage of Bitcoin. Basically, a hot wallet on a phone with a little money for day to day spending, and the rest in varying degrees of cold storage. I feel like it applies to everyone because regardless of how much anyone has, the important thing, in my opinion, is to get in the habit of responsibly storing Bitcoin. After almost a year of using my Trezor, I still am very happy. The things I like most: - It is easy to use: even bought ones for my parents. It actually helped a lot with teaching them about Bitcoin. - Open-source: essentially everything, from their firmware to the actual hardware, is open source. This is comforting to me because it means that everyone in the world can look at their design and study it and help improve it. A couple things I dont like, but that arent that big of a deal yet: - The Trezor wallet uses bitcore as the full node backend. Id like to have the option of using bitcoind. - I cant yet receive to a bech32 address, but I think this is coming soon. - I would personally like to see more privacy technologies implemented, specifically BIP47. I cannot speak to the quality of their customer support because Ive never had to contact them. I will update my review if anything changes.

Trezor manufactures absolutely non-user friendly devices. Im saying that as a techie who roots his Androids and compiles his own ROM to use, so Im no stranger to device glitches. First off, if Trezor knows you purchased your device off Amazon, youre on your own--they wont extend any sort of help (yet it seems theyre all too willing to make money off selling on Amazon. Such great guys!!) Second and most important of all—after the most recent firmware update from 1.10.4 to 1.10.5, my Trezor One often wont even light up when Im plugging it in during the time I have to key in the 6-digit PIN. It takes many plug/unplug before itll be detected. Also, since the 1.10.5 update, the Metamask wallets hooked up to Trezor cant send out crypto anymore; they can receive but not send crypto. My other Metamask wallets not configured to link with Trezor had no such issues. Wasnt like this as recently as Jan 31. 2022 when I last sent out crypto to pay for something.

I have both Trezor and Ledger Nano S, I really prefer the Trezor over the Nano S. The initial setup is way less cumbersome with the Trezor, also, the Chrome apps and trezor bridge are easier to use than the Ledger ones, there is also no need to install any apps onto the hardware wallet itself, it just works with BTC and ETH out of the box. Upgrading the firmware on the Trezor is also way simpler than doing that on the Nano S. Overall I find myself using the Trezor a lot more and would definitely go with Trezor if I need more hardware wallets.

This is an excellent wallet that keeps your coin safer than software wallets, or - god forbid - trusting an exchange with your fortune. It was easier to use than I anticipated: firmware and software installed easily (even on Linux), and you operate it through your PC (I thought you had to enter your PIN and passphrase on the tiny thing, but the two buttons on it are only for Yes/No decisions). My favorite feature is that it can have hidden wallets which are encrypted with a passphrase. This way, you can have a decoy wallet with a low balance on it, and keep the stash away from anyone that asks, say, at customs. Speaking of stealth, Im glad this device looks a little cheap, as if it was an AC remote or something, and not like it has nuclear codes on it like the Ledger Nano. As a neat surprise value, the maker also has a password manager in the works (currently in Beta), which looks promising, and again, should be more secure than using a software-only solution.

Been using this to store currency for 2 months and suddenly I am locked out of it and not able to connect in any way. I’ve tried different cables, different USB ports, different computers and 3 different methods to connect (myetherwallet, trezor app in Chrome, and wallet.trezor.io). I’ve exchanged multiple emails with TREZOR technical support but have only been asked a lot of questions with no solutions. I fear I have lost several thousand dollars worth of currency. BE VERY CAREFUL HOW YOU STORE YOUR CURRENCIES. UPDATE--after several emails back/forth with Tech Support, lots of frustration, its finally working again and all access is restored. Restoring the TREZOR bridge into my OSX is what it needed. I dont know why, but trezor worked great for several weeks without the bridge, then suddenly stopped allowing access. This is why I say its for techies...is it secure? Im not a good one to ask, but the experts say it is.

Theres a lot of good about the backend (open source, frequently upgraded firmware) of trezor devices.. but I have to say in terms of build quality Model One is severely lacking. Your $10 usb sticks feel more solid than this flimsy thing. The Trezor Suite is pretty horrendous as well. Thats where the exodus support really shines, after you setup your Trezor & enable the bridge, you dont have to go into to that garbage app anymore, which is why I have given more stars than I probably would have. If I wasnt obsessed with Exodus, Id probably get a ledger or something similar.
