Trigger Start Torch

Bernzomatic TS8000 The TS 8000T arrived properly packaged and in brand new condition. Since I did a preliminary research on this torch through the web site for the intended use, I chose the TS 8000T. The enclosed printed instructions gave the basic instructions for operation in several languages for 4 different style of torches from the TS 4000 to the BZ4500HS. Each have different capabilities and controls. If you have used a torch before, most likely you will not need to read the instructions, the controls are intuitive and well placed, I wont be requiring the striker and flints like my old TS 4000 still functioning Bernz torch. The TS8000T will compliment the older torch as the reason for purchase is the need for a higher output for a larger soldering project. Also now with availability for both propane and mapgas more BTUs are possible and since propane is inexpensive there isnt a high cost involved if you need something soldered for plumbing, brazing or crafting and repair. The shelf life of the Bernz product is indefinite due to the quality brass construction so most likely youll only be buying one and passing it on. I use mine for plumbing projects and repair if needed. The TS 8000T easily attached to the propane cylinder and fired right up. The only take away as Im sure its probably covered on the web site or could be found on you tube etc. is the lack of specifications on the box or in the printed instructions as to the BTU output with propane or mapp gas and the upsell brochure to highlight the rest of the Bernz products and attachments. But now that I shop mostly on line Amazon will always suggest and highlight these items. As far as soldering, brazing and other uses for the first time user I would suggest books, and online reputable tutorials for instruction and safety procedures for many uses of this tool.(many references are for the kitchen sous vide cooking and lighting charcoal for the BBQ). A well made and reliable product for my needs.

Design enhances ease of use. All-metal construction, trusted brand. This model has flow adjustment which I recommend to control heat output. Great upgrade from worn out, 40-year old junk.

great tool still working after years of use…keep it out of the rain and wet conditions or youll have problems

I had for maybe a year but not use very much, and here already the spark no longer work it just not worth the money. they ask heat out out, lock feature, easy to use. way not add about the spark, it no good. and i used very little

These get things really hot really fast. I use it for smelting small amounts of silver and gold and am quite happy with how well it works.

I own a TS4000 and have used it for 8 years and it still works. I thought on the TS8000, the adjustment for the flame would be a good feature. The Igniter did not work at all, no matter what I tried, so therefore it is completely useless. Sent it back to Amazon for a refund, not willing to try another one.
