> 3 dayNot the cheapest 24 you can buy. I did some research and came across a few nice reviews which were quite thorough. One in particular from the UK. Quite a thorough review. Well reviewed. What I like about this unit is the matte finish on the screen so reduced glare and the aluminum base styling. Needs to have a HDMI input but this is easily gotten around. Not sure why they provided every input but a HDMI. Now I hope it lasts a long time for the money I paid for it.

> 3 dayI run a three-monitor setup at home, all Samsung 206BW (16:10) displays from a few years ago. When one failed, I set out to replace it with a 1080p display and settled on this Dell. In short, this has turned out to be a fantastic display with very good clarity, very even backlighting and excellent color reproduction (owing to its IPS panel, vs. the TN panels in my old Samsungs). I was a little concerned about the response time as I also play games, but I notice no ghosting or lag at all during gameplay. Do note, however, that Im not into twitch games or fighting games where ultra-low lag would be most important. Its worth mentioning to others considering a purchase that text looked absolutely horrendous on this Dell right out of the box, which is unusual in my experience. It turns out that this was due to the monitors Image Enhance feature which comes turned on by default. Turn this feature off immediately, then calibrate both color and ClearType text (if on Windows) and you should have an excellent picture.

Greater than one weekI purchased the Dell P2214H IPS 22 LED monitor 6 months ago (used). It arrived in perfect condition. The display is crisp and clear. I use this system (Windows 7 Pro x64) for code editing and so I greatly appreciate the ability to swivel it 90 degrees, allowing many lines of code to be viewed/edited. I am not a gamer or a graphic artists so I cannot speak to its responsiveness or color reproduction. If I must purchase another monitor I will look for another just like it.

> 3 dayI am not one of those people who knows all there is to know about ICC profiles and gamma correction, etc. I just know when a monitor is bugging my eyes like crazy, and looks off in about every way. I got this monitor delivered to work and played with the settings all day yesterday. I also looked at what settings others had said were apparently good, and tried those. I started to doubt my eyes. But after I got home and looked at the other 27 monitor I have there (different brand -- you can find my review on that one if youre interested), it was immediately apparently that it was not in my head. This one is maybe half as good, and it was actually $20 more expensive than the other one. The bottom line is this: there are MUCH better monitors out there for the same price (cheaper, in fact). And, if youve ever seen a Dell monitor that looked off and just couldnt be dialed in, this one is exactly like that -- just bigger. I wish it wasnt true, but it is, at least for the one I got. I have returned it (that part went flawlessly -- thank you Amazon), and am going with a slightly different model from the same brand I have at home (different only because I need VESA mounts for work, and that one only has a stand).

10-06-2025VGA source not found message, because of trying to use display port. Powering off in 2 minutes. A link for dell support is on the screen, but it doesnt take you useful information. Use the 4 buttons on the right side of monitor to change the display input settings. This is a huge oversight in the very basic install picture instructions that would save lots of time. Great for its anti-glare properties and adjustability.

> 3 dayI like the portrait and landscape orientation possible. And the stand. It can be adjusted quite high up if desired and easily. Its spring loaded so you just slide it up or down to your desired height. The colors are very good. This is replacing an HP 23xi which has great color, but burned out after 2 years. I hope this one lasts longer. Using it for photo editing and general purpose things. Mine came with 4 cords: HDMI, VGA, DVI, Power cord. Nice. Im currently using it with the DVI connector and alls well.

> 3 dayI bought three of these for a multi-monitor setup with my early 2013 Macbook Pro Retina 15, and it works beautifully. For those interested, I believe you need the higher end MBPr models that come equipped with discreet (internal) Nvidia graphics card, so you may have issues with the 13 or non-Retina models. My setup was: 1 HDMI to DisplayPort and 2 Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Details matter: most 2013+ era MacBook Pros use Mini DisplayPort connections (e.g. Thunderbolt) on the notebook (*not* full size DisplayPort). I opted for 6 Better Cables brand cables purchased from Amazon, but you could also use: 1 HDMI to DVI-D single link (not dual link, and not plain DVI) and: 2 Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt compatible) to DisplayPort (not Mini) If you have a Thunderbolt hub, youll need a MB with 2 Mini DisplayPort/Thunderbolt connections, because hubs will take one of your Mini DisplayPort/Thunderbolt plugs and you cant use both the hub HDMI and hub MDP/TB plugs simultaneously. Lastly, do your testing with the Macbook Pros lid opened and plugged in. Reboot at least once before futzing with sleep mode, as this can cause weirdness (especially if youve got USB keyboard/mouse plugged into a hub -- they might not wake up).

Greater than one weekI am usually a Samsung TV/monitor guy, but since I trust Dell for my laptop and desktop purchases, I said why not ? Companies I have worked for, have purchased 100s of similar monitors from Dell. Also, since I was given a Dell sound bar (clips on the bottom of the monitor), it was a nice plus. It was well worth the price versus two 22 (or the like) monitors. The video quality is great !

> 3 dayAt first I bought this monitor just as a temporary monitor until I buy a legit, bigger monitor because I was planning on using dual monitors and use this one as a sub monitor since it can pivot and rotate 180. A month after I got this DELL monitor I bought BENQ gaming monitor. As I planned, I started using BENQ as a main and this one as a sub (rotated). However, while I was playing bunch of 3D steam games, (resident evil 6, witcher 3 etc) I realized that this DELL monitor was the real bad-ass. Of course BENQs bigger, but the color is just not as good as that of DELLs. Ive been using the standard stock setting for my DELL monitor and the clearness, sharpness and color temperature blah blah (I dont know much about this color related jargon so Imma just skip) are JUST SOOOOOOOO Amazing and WAAAAAy better. I have tried every single options for the BenQ monitor (Hue Temp Contrast Saturation bla bla whateva) but It never had same amazing feeling as Dells heavenly screen. I dont even know how to put this but its like watching DELLs monitor is like looking at a nicely cut chocolate squares while watching other monitors are like watching the same thing but all melted and squashed.. I mean this monitor is not even ULTRA SHARP model yet it has the best screen quality and color I have ever experienced. Bottom line, I ended up using this as a main monitor and the bigger gaming monitor as a sub monitor on the side.. cause I would rather play games with smaller screen with better quality than bigger, less fine quality. So I guess that pretty much explains how freakin awesome this monitor is. It was on sale and I got this for $159, and I think this monitor worth way more than that. I would even pay $300 for this monitor if I break mine and have to buy again (and if the price went up). Dont hesitate and just buy this. U WONT REGRET!

09-06-2025I like the three-way adjustments (height, tilt and pivot); the clear but non-glare matte screen; the three USB2 ports, and the high resolution compared to 1680x1050 monitors. It came with a VGA and an HDMI cable, and the USB2 master cable. In fact, there is nothing to complain of except that this is not a 22 monitor. It is 21.5 diagonal, meaning that instead of 11.75 display height you get 10.5. The difference is very noticeable. Still, because of its good points, I would probably buy it again.
