14-06-2025Nice, crisp picture, fully adjustable stands, standard VESA mounts on the back, and a plug-shield on the back to hide the cables going in and out of the monitor. Im the IT director for my company and Ive purchased about a half-dozen of these. My only gripe is that they have a displayport plug INSTEAD of HDMI. While thats not a big deal for newer Dell business class towers, most computers more than a few years old do not have displayport. I have found that an HDMI-DVI adapter cable works just fine though, if you must use HDMI (for instance, on a laptop). Other than that, theyre great monitors and will most likely buy more.

Greater than one weekThe primary reason I bought this product was because I wanted a secondary monitor to compliment my laptop workspace and to increase my productivity due to limited desk space. I have a variety of uses for the vertical monitor. Among which programming, writing papers, and reading articles online. If you’re looking for a monitor that can change between horizontal and vertical views then you’re looking in the right place. Design & Construction Ive found the design of the monitor and the stand itself to be extremely well built. The construction and material quality are simply exquisite. The rotatable mount is good but leaves something to be desired. While the monitor will seamlessly rotate, it does take some effort and it only rotates towards one side. Of course, this is easily solved by mounting the monitor differently but that goes against the entire point of having a swivel mount. Moving the monitor vertically is also very smooth, however, Ive found that rotating the monitor base is more difficult than I think it should be. While the sheer weight of the monitor and stand do a good job of keeping the unit in place, the lack of rubber feet makes the stand slide around when youre wanting to do any sort of rotation. Pros • Lovely aluminum feel seemingly rivaled only by Apples • Construction feels solid, as if it will last for many years • Smooth action when moving the monitor vertically Cons • Weight of the product makes it harder to turn on its base • Lack of rubber feet make adjustments an extra unnecessary hassle Monitor The monitor itself is gorgeous. The colors, albeit less flattering than those of a higher resolution monitor, are simply excellent. The usage of IPS technology in the panel makes everything easier to read without me having to turn the screen if I need to show something off. However, I’ve noticed that, without scaling the monitor to more than 100%, text is hard to read at times. It’s dependant on the type and coloring of the font. It seems to appear more on pages where the letters are more the same shade as the background or when there’s a large quantity of text on screen. However, take this with a grain of salt since I’ve primarily been using a single laptop screen for the last few months. I can’t comment on the gaming side of things but I can offer clarity from past experience. The Grey To Grey (GTG) response time of 8ms isn’t anything to be worried about if you’re doing anything other than high-intensity or quick-reaction gaming. However, if you are looking for a high-intensity gaming monitor, I suggest you look elsewhere since any time above 5ms will typically harm your experience. Pros • The usage of IPS in the monitor is well worth the price • The sheer amount of more screen-space you get is astounding Cons • Hard to read text, depending on the size and color of the font and the background coloring. • 8ms response time, only if you’re looking for a high-speed gaming monitor As a whole, I’m happy with my experience. I rate this product as a 4 out of 5 stars. The use of IPS technology, exquisite feeling from the material and design, the size and increased workspace is a welcome change. Unfortunately, due to the weight, lack of footpads, and hard to read text I must remove a star. Additionally, during shipment, a corner of the stand was slightly cracked from being dropped or crushed. Don’t be alarmed because the packaging itself is more than sufficient to protect your brand new monitor. A large monitor, an increased workspace, and a lovely addition to your desk make this a must-buy.

15-06-2025Beautiful moitor. Works well with Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 10 Pro using DisplayPort connection. This is reported to be a good monitor for photo editing but I do that with a desktop Mac and a more expensive LaCie monitor. I have not bothered to calibrate the monitor because it looks fine for my purposes. Color photos which I have edited and printed from my calibrated system look right on this monitor so the factory calibration appears to be close.

12-06-2025Great resolution and very easy to set up. screen rotation is very helpful for those big excel sheets your working on. Only annoying thing is you need to order the Dell NCW95 MN008 USB Computer Soundbar AC511 separate if you want sound. For what you are paying for the screen it should be included but they are both excellent products.

> 3 dayThis is a great monitor. It has a sturdy stand. Images are bright, clear and sharp, although overly bright with the out of box settings. Currently set brightness 10 and contrast 78. i am using the DVI input although that is the one cable not included. I would have given this a 5 out of 5 except for one thing. I cannot figure out how to register this for the warranty! Dell website requires a 7 digit service tag number and then goes on to say that most monitors do not have a service tag number and this is one that does not! I have an account with Dell but it only wants to access products already purchased.

Greater than one weekThis monitor is beautiful. Colors are vibrant and realistic. This monitor needed almost no adjustment from stock. I grabbed an ICC profile from a certain professional review site based in the UK and set custom color of 100/98/98, and everything looks perfect. The contrast ratio is high, around 1,100 native according to that same review site. Blacks are deep for this type of panel, which makes colors look even more strong. Motion is smooth and there is no ghosting. There is a touch of glow in the corners, which is normal for IPS/PLS monitors. It isnt very strong, however, and is only visible when youre watching dark scenes or playing dark games. The first monitor I received does have a slight backlight bleed in the bottom left hand corner that can mess with colors and black depth when the monitor isnt angled right. Ive since figured out how to position it ideally and it doesnt bother me. Its almost impossible to spot unless youre looking for it on a full black screen. The replacement I ordered was much worse, so I returned it and kept the original. Id advise anyone that orders one of these monitors (or any IPS/PLS monitor, given my experience with a few other monitors) to fill an image in Microsoft Paint with black, then full screen it so that the entire screen is fully black. If you see heavy glow anywhere, move your head so that youre viewing the area dead on, not at an angle. If the glow goes away, its just glow. If, however, some of it lingers, theres a backlight bleed there, and you have a decision to make - throw the dice and request a replacement, or give it a shot and see if you can live with it. This will only really be an issue if you use your monitor to play dark games (Dead Space, Metro) or watch movies on your PC. It might be problematic for people doing graphics work, too, but Id imagine theyd know how to work around it. Regardless, if youre a gamer or want to watch movies on your computer, Id check your screen for backlight bleeds first thing before getting too settled into it. IPS/PLS monitors seem to have a real problem with it because even a tiny backlight bleed causes heavy additional glow. That said, if you can get one of these that looks right, its a great monitor. Im fairly happy with mine. Its awesome in games. The only mark against it is the backlight bleed.

> 3 dayThe display (mines an A00 rev) has pretty uniform brightness and respectable color reproduction for the price range ($200 plus or minus $20) especially with calibration. I dont have the yellow tint issues others are reporting; that sounds to me like a warranty-replaceable defect. There is IPS glow but its unobtrusive. The backlight is non-PWM, that is to say the brightness is controlled via direct current, so people sensitive to backlight flicker will notice none on this monitor. Input lag is unnoticeable to me (under 6 ms) and theres minimal ghosting. About the only improvement gaming-wise would be faster refresh rate, but thats still largely the domain of TN panels. I do notice more fluidity in the 144 Hz Asus VG248QE when playing twitchy shooters (e.g. CS:GO) but unless youre really into your shooters, 60 Hz panels like the P2414H are fine. For other genres this display is excellent. The OSD and physical buttons are utilitarian and straightforward; they do their job well. I appreciate the ability to turn off the powered on indicator LED. The stand is not the most robust ever created but its entirely serviceable; it looks nice, its sturdy, and its easily attached to and removed from the monitor. Adjustments are all straightforward and easy to manipulate (theres tilt, swivel, rotate, and height adjustment). It looks nice in portrait or landscape. A 100 mm VESA mount is present, too. For about $100 more one can get the U2414H (Ultrasharp) which is very similar to this monitor in terms of the display characteristics and stand but has thinner bezels on the top and sides, 4x USB 3.0 ports and HDMI inputs (among other differences). I didnt need any of those things so Im content with the P2414H.

Greater than one weekI like the three-way adjustments (height, tilt and pivot); the clear but non-glare matte screen; the three USB2 ports, and the high resolution compared to 1680x1050 monitors. It came with a VGA and an HDMI cable, and the USB2 master cable. In fact, there is nothing to complain of except that this is not a 22 monitor. It is 21.5 diagonal, meaning that instead of 11.75 display height you get 10.5. The difference is very noticeable. Still, because of its good points, I would probably buy it again.

> 3 daythis is a decent monitor. i use it for coding in portrait mode and it is really convenient. as for gaming, the response time can be a little disappointing. In FPS, you can feel the lag between your hand and eyes. CAREFUL: theres a lot of defective products of this model they may send you. The defective ones has the notorious yellow tint problem. it is not very noticeable unless 1) you are a worker of graphics and color 2) you have a good model to compare from and 3) when you set the mode to warm and the yellow really strike your eyes. Ive only managed to have bought one without that yellow tint problem. Ive bought and returned 2 defective monitors back and forth. Amazon claims that they need to get to the bottom of this yellow tint problem with DELL and Im still waiting for their response. btw: all my defective ones was shipped from goodyear AZ. just beware.

> 3 dayVGA source not found message, because of trying to use display port. Powering off in 2 minutes. A link for dell support is on the screen, but it doesnt take you useful information. Use the 4 buttons on the right side of monitor to change the display input settings. This is a huge oversight in the very basic install picture instructions that would save lots of time. Great for its anti-glare properties and adjustability.
