I bought these after good experiences with the monitors I use at work (a newer version of them). They work great for the home use as well. The display quality is great with great color and brightness. I shopped around and look at a dozen monitors in this price range and can honestly say the build quality is among the best on these for the price. I highly recommend them!

I purchased this monitor to use in portrait orientation in a dual monitor setup at work. I do a lot of document review and word processing at my job, so a monitor that is able to pivot to portrait orientation so that I can view documents in full-size was a must. I should note that the Dell P2314H seems to essentially be a slightly slimmed-down update of the Dell U2312HM, which I also own, and which has positive overall reviews on Amazon. My review of the P2314H, in summary, is that this monitor is perfect for my setup and it is a great value. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: -The packaging it came in was very robust -No dead pixels or screen quality issues -It has the ability to pivot to portrait orientation, which is excellent for anyone who does a lot of document review and/or word processing at work -Adjusting the tilt, swivel, pivot, and height is a very smooth process, yet the monitor feels very solid/sturdy at the same time -Wide and sturdy stand -It wont win any design awards like the $999 Apple Thunderbolt Display, but the material and build quality of the P2314H looks and feels high for its price range -Several connection options (VGA, DVI, DisplayPort) -4 USB 2.0 ports -Great value for the price--I got it for $154.99 Cons: -No HDMI Again, the monitor has just about every feature and is really solid. A great buy in my opinion!

It is the same monitor my company provide. So I had previous experience with it. It has a high quality resolution and very dependable monitor.

I bought three of these for a multi-monitor setup with my early 2013 Macbook Pro Retina 15, and it works beautifully. For those interested, I believe you need the higher end MBPr models that come equipped with discreet (internal) Nvidia graphics card, so you may have issues with the 13 or non-Retina models. My setup was: 1 HDMI to DisplayPort and 2 Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Details matter: most 2013+ era MacBook Pros use Mini DisplayPort connections (e.g. Thunderbolt) on the notebook (*not* full size DisplayPort). I opted for 6 Better Cables brand cables purchased from Amazon, but you could also use: 1 HDMI to DVI-D single link (not dual link, and not plain DVI) and: 2 Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt compatible) to DisplayPort (not Mini) If you have a Thunderbolt hub, youll need a MB with 2 Mini DisplayPort/Thunderbolt connections, because hubs will take one of your Mini DisplayPort/Thunderbolt plugs and you cant use both the hub HDMI and hub MDP/TB plugs simultaneously. Lastly, do your testing with the Macbook Pros lid opened and plugged in. Reboot at least once before futzing with sleep mode, as this can cause weirdness (especially if youve got USB keyboard/mouse plugged into a hub -- they might not wake up).

Monitor has AMAZING color & vibrance with very little light bleeding. MONITOR CAN BE OVERCLOCKED ABOUT 20HZ OVER THE STANDARD. This may not be so for every monitor, but with an Nvidia video card I overclocked it to about 72Hz. Very Happy with all Dell monitors, great value for the price. Buttons are nice, not clunky and power button has a nice LED so you can turn on monitor in with no lights on. Turned it on and off about 20 times a day for years so it is VERY DURABLE.

I am usually a Samsung TV/monitor guy, but since I trust Dell for my laptop and desktop purchases, I said why not ? Companies I have worked for, have purchased 100s of similar monitors from Dell. Also, since I was given a Dell sound bar (clips on the bottom of the monitor), it was a nice plus. It was well worth the price versus two 22 (or the like) monitors. The video quality is great !

This is a great monitor. It has a sturdy stand. Images are bright, clear and sharp, although overly bright with the out of box settings. Currently set brightness 10 and contrast 78. i am using the DVI input although that is the one cable not included. I would have given this a 5 out of 5 except for one thing. I cannot figure out how to register this for the warranty! Dell website requires a 7 digit service tag number and then goes on to say that most monitors do not have a service tag number and this is one that does not! I have an account with Dell but it only wants to access products already purchased.

Missing back cable cover and did not tell me. Other than that, good buy!

Beautiful moitor. Works well with Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 10 Pro using DisplayPort connection. This is reported to be a good monitor for photo editing but I do that with a desktop Mac and a more expensive LaCie monitor. I have not bothered to calibrate the monitor because it looks fine for my purposes. Color photos which I have edited and printed from my calibrated system look right on this monitor so the factory calibration appears to be close.

The display (mines an A00 rev) has pretty uniform brightness and respectable color reproduction for the price range ($200 plus or minus $20) especially with calibration. I dont have the yellow tint issues others are reporting; that sounds to me like a warranty-replaceable defect. There is IPS glow but its unobtrusive. The backlight is non-PWM, that is to say the brightness is controlled via direct current, so people sensitive to backlight flicker will notice none on this monitor. Input lag is unnoticeable to me (under 6 ms) and theres minimal ghosting. About the only improvement gaming-wise would be faster refresh rate, but thats still largely the domain of TN panels. I do notice more fluidity in the 144 Hz Asus VG248QE when playing twitchy shooters (e.g. CS:GO) but unless youre really into your shooters, 60 Hz panels like the P2414H are fine. For other genres this display is excellent. The OSD and physical buttons are utilitarian and straightforward; they do their job well. I appreciate the ability to turn off the powered on indicator LED. The stand is not the most robust ever created but its entirely serviceable; it looks nice, its sturdy, and its easily attached to and removed from the monitor. Adjustments are all straightforward and easy to manipulate (theres tilt, swivel, rotate, and height adjustment). It looks nice in portrait or landscape. A 100 mm VESA mount is present, too. For about $100 more one can get the U2414H (Ultrasharp) which is very similar to this monitor in terms of the display characteristics and stand but has thinner bezels on the top and sides, 4x USB 3.0 ports and HDMI inputs (among other differences). I didnt need any of those things so Im content with the P2414H.
