Infant Optics DXR-8 Add-on Camera (Not Compatible with DXR-8 PRO)

We first ordered the camera and monitor set and then the add-on camera, and have been using it for the past 6 weeks and really like it. The picture is very clear whether it is day or night. If you zoom x2 it gets a little fuzzy but I still utilize it and I think the quality is good for how close you can zoom in. The best feature is the span on the camera, I can span the entire room from the monitor, an awesome feature, you can place the camera in one spot and not move it even if you move furniture around or if you have a toddler you are watching. The only thing I would like to see improved would be the battery life, if i charge it right before i put my daughter down it will last about 8-9 hours with use of the monitor, but to be safe i just keep it on the charger all night long.

Easy to add cameras to this monitor system, purchased a second camera at the birth of our second child. Been using the system since 2015 with our first and still using them with our 3rd. Cameras are great and easy to control, provide good audio and push to talk which helps with the older ones. Main monitor device had one flaw using a micro usb charge port but have corrected that in 2019 with a barrel connector which is much more durable. Overall its been a great system and couldnt imagine not having it, company stands by their product and their customer service has been great when Ive had problems (related to usb charge port), quick and responsive and got me a solution to my problem quickly!

I love that this is a closed loop, non-hackable system. Picture quality is great! I have been able to add cameras on as our family grows. The real factor that takes infant optics to the next level is their customer service! After about 18 months, our signal was dropping a lot and after emailing customer service, Gladys R was all over it!! Provided lots of step by step troubleshooting and frequently checked in to see how these tips were/weren’t working. There was small improvement but not great. She jumped all over coordinating the return of my monitor and sending me a new one without question. I already was happy with the product but the customer service has made me a customer for life and I’ve recommended and bought for my friends numerous times!

I really love this camera. The night vision on it is great as this is what we see the most. During the day when the lights are on in my kids rooms the picture quality is really great it shows the colors of the crib sheets and other objects well. Having multiple children i love that there is a scan setting and every 10 seconds or so it switches rooms thus allowing overnight observation of all rooms. It does have the talk back feature which can be utilized but we do not very often unless we are playing around. we have not tried out the different lenses but will shortly be switching out to the wide view lens. Overall we LOVE this camera, definitely worth the money. it also does not run off of wifi which means it can’t be hacked (bug plus for us) and the battery life has on average lasted 6-8 hours or so (this is hard to say as im not always super close when it dies) the volume can also be turned up fairly loud. We really love the infant optics products. Another added bonus to all infant optics products is their customer service is out of this world amazing! My parent unit quit working and they replaced and had the new unit to me within 2 days of shipping the old one. They are very friendly and even after receiving the new parent unit they ensured to email me to check that everything was working appropriately and I didn’t have any dither needs (this was awesome)! I will continue to buy their products and I am constantly recommending them to friends!

Overall a great camera monitoring system. Range was tested up to 100 yds and worked with no issues with antenna up. The temp reading seems to be a bit higher (2-4 degrees) than actual ambient room temp. Purchased an additional camera to go with the system to be able to monitor 2 rooms, the scan feature of having the cameras automatically switch between is a great feature as well is the ability to talk through the camera. The only CON that I can see is wireless devices in the area can cause a drop in signal to either the camera or the base station. But if you move the monitor or camera away from any WIFI devices a few feet seems to mitigate the issue.

This is a very good camera for our baby. Weve had no problems with it. Range on the monitor is good, and the battery life is excellent. I also like having a dedicated monitor (as opposed to having to use my phone). My only slight negative is that the night version is slightly blurry, but ultimately, youre seeing in the dark, so what else can you expect? Very good quality overall.

We were looking for a second camera since baby sleeps in our room andthe nursery. Set up super easy and gives us a great view as hes sleeping

We have used InfantOptics cameras for a few years now and love them. The second camera is easy to pair and we like only having one monitor screen. We have had a few issues with the battery life on the monitor and customer service was able to walk me though how to reset it and now it works perfectly again! We also had some nightvision fading with our first camera and customer service was able to replace that camera for free. They are incredibly helpful if there are any issues. These products have stood up well and are a great value! Theyre also easy to travel with if you need to- we pack our camera and monitor on vacation with us and theyre easy to set up in a new location as well.

Why did I wait to buy this monitor?!? I really wanted a monitor that had it all (including WiFi capabilities) with a parent module. So because this monitor didn’t have WiFi, I went with a Motorola instead. Although the picture on the Motorola parent module was amazing, I went through three different returns before finally giving up on the MP4 model. The sound went out on one and the other two I had troubles with charging because the port was cheaply constructed. Finally, after every review basically said this monitor was the best, I bought it. Why why why was I reluctant? It really is the best! The picture is great, the sound is great, I love all the features. And I really don’t miss WiFi like I thought I would. If you are like me and really don’t want to use your phone as your parent module, this really is the best monitor!!!!

This has been a great monitor and I would recommend purchasing! We used our first one for over a year; then we started having visibility issues. After contacting the company, they sent us a replacement and all I had to do was pay for shipping the old one back. We have purchased two cameras total and have been happy with our purchase. Night vision is great as well as day vision. I cant say enough positive things about the customer service when we had to contact them about the first one that started having issues. I highly recommend purchasing this camera.
