> 3 dayI was so excited to get this monitor. I am a new grandmother and didnt know what to expect with a monitor today but comparing this to the ones when my children were little is like night and day. Not only can I see the baby, I am alerted by sound when she wakes up or is beginning to wake. So nice to know the DXR-8 is on the job night or day. It is peace of mind for me to know what is going on with the baby at any time. It has many nice features and is easy to operate, I even bought another camera to connect to the system for a new baby sister coming. So nice to use in a playroom also, for those quick trips out of the room to answer the door etc. Everyone should have at least one of these in there home!

> 3 dayUPDATE: I absolutely HATE this monitor system. First, this company is inflating their reviews by including a message in the box for the device that asks customers to post a review in exchange for a free second camera (valued at $99 here on Amazon). We played along because we needed a second camera. I hate that I’m probably part of what has made this company so successful. My best friend just bought this monitor because of the reviews even though I continue to talk her into returning it! Ugh! The picture on this monitor is awful quality! We used to have a Summer monitor that was so much better quality. I do like the interchangeable wide angle lens (the only thing I like—which you’ll pay an extra $20 to own). I hate that the speaker for this unit is on the BACK! You have to lay it on its face to hear at night. Standing it up risks it falling over and you not being able to hear. But if you are worried about hearing your kids, you shouldn’t buy from this company at ALL! We just discovered today that if you have the monitor on scan and a camera gets unplugged, it stays on that camera (the unplugged one) and STOPS scanning. We woke up to find our baby covered in dried vomit. It was everywhere like he had been crying for us. Did we hear him? No. By strange coincidence, the monitor in my daughter’s room was unplugged. The monitor was only showing her unplugged warning screen instead of switching to my son’s room. What a terrible flaw! In the product’s defense, I had turned off the alarm feature (not understanding it). I turned the alarm back on high and recreated the scenario to find out that the unplugged monitor does create an alarm, but the camera stays on the warning screen and does stop scanning. So angry about my baby being put through all that. If you still decide to buy this piece of junk, don’t turn the alarm off ever! But seriously, find something else. I am so sorry we bought this and even sorrier that we kept it after we realized this company was scamming the Amazon reviews! INITIAL REVIEW: We purchased this monitor system over the weekend and found the set up was easy. We added on an additional camera today to try the whole thing out and it seems to work well for us so far. Pairing the new camera was simple. I like how the camera can point at a lower angle than our previous Summer monitor. Downsides are that I wish it could do split screen and automatically stay on a camera if sound is detected. I prefer that instead of scanning. Another downside is that the monitor light seemed a bit bright in our room last night. I wish there were a way to turn it down or off. Overall though, it appears to be at least as good as our old Summer monitor and probably a bit better.

> 3 dayDont trust the 5 star reviews. I bought this because there were so many 5 star reviews, but I found out later it was because the company offered a lot of people a free 2nd camara in exchange for 5 stars. Its still a decent set up, but not 5 stars, and not worth the price. The night Camara isnt too bad, but Ive seen better ones from friends and wish Id shopped around a little more. The reception isnt great, and it gets spotty even just being a few rooms away from the nursery. It routinely tells me its out of range, even if I havent moved the monitor. Weve checked wifi and other possible reasons for interference. The sound is also spotty, and most of the time its not bad, but it cuts in and out quite often. I like the feature of being able to add other cameras, and if you have it set to scan it will go back and forth between the two cameras, but it doesnt stay on one camera if baby is crying, which is kinda annoying. I love being able to control the camara and having such a wide area to scan. It comes with a zoom lens that you have to exchange with the normal lense, unscrewing and screwing back on, which is hassle, but at least it has the option. Overall, its not bad. I just wish Id I vested in something else.

> 3 dayThis baby monitor is hands down, much better than the Motorola camera I had prior, which cost nearly twice as much. Pros: -Amazing night vision, the photo attached is in a almost pitch black room yet I can still see my baby clearly. -Ability to add a wide angle lens, I like to use this one for the playroom so I can see more. -The zoom function also has really good clarity if you want to get a closer look at something. -The battery is SO GOOD. I have had this thing for over a year now and the battery still lasts hours just like the first time I had it. It can go a good 8-10 hours without being plugged in if you dont have the screen on. -Easily add additional cameras, then you can have it continually scan through the various screens or just choose the one you want to stay on I cant really think of any cons for this monitor. I had an issue with one of my cameras after it was dropped and had to deal with their customer service and they were very responsive and helpful with the issue. I also think theres a lot to be said for buying a monitor from a company whose sole focus is baby monitors and not other products. This really is top notch and if youre thinking about buying one just go for it, you wont be disappointed.

> 3 dayWorks great as a second camera for my original system. Zoom on any of these original cameras is trash but it works. Just grainy. I wish there was an easier way to flip between cameras like adding it as a shortcut instead of having to go through the menu every time

Greater than one weekWe have been using this camera system for one year now, and I have no complaints. We have one camera at home and one at our babysitters. The viewer-screen travels back and forth daily, with no issues! It can be used both locations to connect with either camera. The camera is easy to mount on the wall or set on a shelf. It has a long cord and so does the viewers charger. Our viewer can still go for about 3 hours without needing a charge, although I do plug it in all night long. Occasionally we have some small challenges where my phones wi-fi interferes a bit with the sound from the monitor, but its never a big deal. You can turn off the annoying beep for when it loses connectivity. I looked at a lot of monitors before our son was born, and I can say Im happy with this one!

> 3 dayI LOVE this camera! I bought an add-on because with two cameras I can now keep an eye on sons whereabouts. He recently transitioned from his crib to a toddler bed and it had been just that... a transitions (for us all). He LOVES the freedom he now has in his room, but in the process drives my husband and I crazy trying to keep an eye on him. Adding this camera was super easy (and the wide-angle lens only adds to how great this camera it). I highly recommend this camera system.

> 3 dayI have had this camera for over a year and have tried multiple brands and this one is by far the best. I wish I could write this review on the actual system but my sister bought it for me so I can only leave my review on the additional camera. Anywhos, after a year or so I noticed that one of my cameras wasn’t working in the dark anymore and I reached out to customer service after realizing I was out of the warranty window I just thanked the customer service agent for their time and planned on purchasing a new camera in the future (the sound still worked great and day time picture worked too just not night time). A few weeks later I received a message from that agent regarding my issues and even though I was slightly over my warranty he worked with me and sent me a new camera! I was beyond grateful that he continued to message me after I had done gone about my business and saved me $100. I am about to purchase another additional camera as we are expecting another baby but you honestly can’t beat their product or service. The ability to add up to 4 cameras and change out lens to meet your needs is super handy!

Greater than one weekInfant Optics is the best in customer service! I got this baby monitor as a gift for my shower after putting it on my registry based on the reviews. I used it for a little over a year (and loved it!) before the night vision on the camera unit stopped working. I was frustrated because I was just about to buy a second camera unit to use for my second child. I emailed support to help me troubleshoot the issue, and after trying various solutions, nothing had worked. We realized that it wasn’t something I could fix from home, but I was out of the warranty period. Even so, they offered to replace my camera unit (at no cost to me) as a courtesy. The customer service agent was super accommodating and the interaction was very positive. I would definitely recommend their products to everyone!
