Allows use of PS2 keyboard and mouse on newer computers that only have USB ports and no PS2 ports. Unfortunately you cannot use the keyboard to wake pc from sleep if you do not want the mouse to also wake pc from sleep. I have a Microsoft optical mouse and even though I configure the mouse not to wake the computer and the keyboard to wake the computer, the computer will not stay in sleep mode. If I configure both the keyboard and mouse not to wake the computer it will remain in sleep mode but I have to press the power button to wake the computer.

Works fine with proper hookup sequence . Hook up the adapter alone to your USB port, let the PC recognize it, and then plug in your PS2 keyboard.

I like that the USB side isnt too bulky to interfere with any adjacent USB connectors. It didnt really need it to have mouse and keyboard for my uses, since my PC already has one PS/2 port , but its better to have and not need , then to need and not have. Either way I am using mine with a keyboard which has a touchpad built-in, it has two ps/2 output and my mother board has only one native PS/2. I am only use this adapter for the keyboard side. The mouse side functions and I could use both at the same time if I wanted but Ive notice a small response lag from the touchpad whenever I used it. Its not has bad as the lag Ive noticed from every wireless mouse but its a lag which hadnt t exist when it was in the native PS/2. So if people can game with wireless mice then it is still possible with this adapter.

I have an older KVM switch which attaches to either servers and it had the old style connections. This item allowed me to hook up to the newer servers without any problems. It was win win situation.

Durable cables, however the title should list that this is a female to female adapter, this item would be used to plug in an old mouse/ keyboard into a newer computer utilizing the PS/2 connector.

I bought two (2) of these adapters. The adapter appears to be well made. It wasnt what I thought I ordered for the purpose I had in mind at the moment I ordered; however, there was an old PS/2 IBM real keyboard that has been sitting around waiting to be used. It was to replace the AWFUL plastic piece-of-junk, less than full size, USB keyboard that came with the latest computer purchase. I also had an optical mouse with a PS/2 connector that replaced the horrid roller ball mouse that also came with the latest computer purchase. So the oops order became the order that allowed me use quality equipment from the olden days. Im happy, I gave five (5) stars, and now I can really type on the full-size keyboard and use a mouse that does not skip. BTW, the adapter works!

I tried 3 others from Amazon, some that people said would work, and they all failed. This was my 4th try and this one works. Its the only one I have found so far that will work on my keyboard. I have a blue cube I bought about 5-6 years ago and it still works, but my son wanted the same keyboard for his computer. I didnt know the blue cube was extinct. Others said they would work but they did not - this one did.

Holding a single key down (like W for gaming) results in the stream of key signals being terminated eventually. Typing or programming this works great. Tested with Lexmark IBM Model M.

I have a MAME cabinet I built many years ago. I used an i-pac 2 card to translate the joysticks and buttons to keypresses. I recently got a raspberry pie 4 and now use it for the heart of the cabinet. This little gadget allowed me to do a plug-and-play replacement with my old pc that had ps2 keyboard input. The old ipac output is ps2 and (of course) the pie inputs are all usb. This thing worked perfectly!

For keyboard and mouse with PS2 interface
