> 3 dayI thought maybe I got a bad drive as I was suffering from intermittent freezing of Windows. Not BSOD, just frequently becoming unresponsive. Also POST would sometimes hang while trying to discover the port this drive was hooked up to, and AHCI mode would present other problems. Googled my issues and found the posts from people with my problem were from ~2011, which is how old my mobo is. Turns out a BIOS update fixed the AHCI problem and I believe running it in AHCI mode has cured my freezing issues. I had to reinstall Windows 4 or 5 times over the course of a few days to track down the problem, but I figured it out and Im happy to report that the drive is running happily. Even on SATA2 I get 260+mb/sec read speeds.

The installation was smooth and the cloning with the included software was straightforward once I got the old drive defragmented AND checked. Let me repeat: before attempting to clone please make sure your source drive is clean and free of errors.
