Greater than one weekI know it’s a security system and I think it notifies the police? But there’s a chance it doesn’t as the only time it was set off, I never received a phone call. Worries me a little bit. Also, I see this and think “smart home” when I think “smart security system” I think of a system that will tell you which door opened, what window opened, where motion was seen and part of me expects the system to be integrated with Alexa for routines. For example, “when the front door opens, turn on living room light.” I don’t see this as a smart home accessory by any means. All Alexa can do is arm or disarm, and Alexa’s glass breaking monitoring can’t set off the alarm so I have to buy a second device to listen for glass? And a second doorbell camera? A second smart lock? It wouldn’t be that bad if it did anything else I had hoped it did. Unfortunately, as of now, the only kudos I can give is that it’s easy to install and the daily reminders are a huge help.

> 3 dayMy husband and I just installed SimpliSafe. We have had several Security Company’s in our lifetime but none that cared more about people Than these people do. This Company has made a product that is easy to install,(my husband & myself are in our 70’s) even for people our age so There is No installation fee. Their monthly fee is the cheapest we have seen yet their products and security is exactly the same as the so called big Named Company’s.

> 3 dayAmazon will not assist and they transfer you or have you hold forever. The extended warranty doesn’t actually help if the sensors don’t line up and Simply Safe won’t help because you didn’t buy it from them. I just need to return my purchase but it’s 2 days past and I have been transferred 4 times and been on the phone for over 78 minutes.

> 3 dayWe have had security systems from two different vendors (one that came with our house, and one we tried later on). Both were workable, but very expensive...ESPECIALLY if we needed to expand them. Adding door/window sensors, cameras, etc. not only came with a very high initial cost, but also resulted in additional monthly costs above and beyond what we were already paying. One of the vendors equipment in particular proved to perform quite poorly; it was centered around a touchscreen keypad that would often run so slowly that it could take 5 minutes for it to recognize that a door or window had opened. The vendor, of course, had no solution except to upgrade (at our cost). Weve been researching alternatives for months. In the meantime, weve implemented things such as IP surveillance cameras and doorbell cameras, at a fraction of the cost of those offered by the above vendors. In the end, SimpliSafe just made the most sense. Purchase the equipment we want, install it ourselves (installation was SUPER easy), and pay a reasonable monitoring fee every month. All devices are wireless, so there was no wiring to be done. The batteries will eventually drain and need to be replaced, but that is a minor nit to pick compared to the ease of not having to run sensor and keypad wiring (or try to re-use whats existing). And the system can use both our home wifi and its own cellular connectivity to dial home, so were still protected in case our Internet fails or is cut off. The only significant downside is that it does not directly integrate with our other smart home devices and systems. For us thats not much of an issue, because were able to keep track of the 3-4 apps between them all, but if we absolutely had to, we could replace our existing devices with SimpliSafe ones and not have to spend too much money doing so. Overall, a great choice if you dont mind (or you enjoy) doing the installation work yourself, and have at least a basic set of technical understanding. They do have installation options, but if youre builing a system like this, you likely dont need them to install it for you.

> 3 dayif you have a warranty issue and do NOT subscribe to monthly monitoring; Simplisafe will NOT replace or repair defective devices - even if brand new!!! youll get stuck battling Amazon to replace the defective items!!! their 100% guaranty is only if you purchase directly form them!!! So while the prices for these packages are fabulous, you coud end up like me and having to spend another $87 for a replacement keypad that was delivered 33 days ago but activated less than 48 hours ago!!!!

> 3 dayI bought this with the understanding that I could REMOTELY monitor my home without purchasing one of their 2 service programs. THAT IS NOT THE CASE. I have returned it for that reason. However #1, this system was extremely well packaged and easy to set up. They really have thought the whole process through. Initial set-up and pairing was simple. Each device could either be attached with screws or mounting stickers (both included). It wasnt until I was configuring the system and the app kept looping back asking me about a monitoring option that I realized there was a problem. Despite the fact it paired with my WiFi the app didnt allow access without their top monitoring service (83 cents a day I think). It took a call to tech support discover that it wouldnt work the way I wanted without one of their paid services. However #2, they were extremely pleasant on the refund including free shipping back. No hard sell although I was offered a couple months more of free monitoring. If you want a DIY home security and monitoring system and are willing to pay for the monitoring service, I think this would be an excellent option.
