This system has a modern Hi-Tech look and small components that fade into the background. I put a sticker on the window panes above my door knobs. I do know that alerting potential troublemakers to the presence of an alarm is often a strong deterrent. I wish that the system had come with at least one other sign and a few more stickers but they are really inexpensive and easy to buy on the companys website. I wanted a system that wouldnt automatically call 911, but would give me or my family an early warning/wake us up/sound an alarm/alert. I wanted an alarm loud enough that neighbors should we have troubles or an intruder. In the past, we had a system that was professionally installed, and we found that it was a total pain because of so many false alarms when we were away which led to threats of fines from the local PD. That was over a decade ago but we had decided that we never wanted another security system that would call for help by itself. I do like knowing that if we travel I can have the system monitored during this time away without having to sign a contract. This system comes with one panic button, a base station, a keypad, and several entryway alarms. The system could not be easier to install as its almost just a matter of plugging it in and sticking things up. I did find that I wanted another panic button and another external alarm. It is very easy to buy separate components to add on to the system after it is in place. This system also comes with stickers and one sign with steaks to go out in the yard. The sensors just stick up where you want them with included adhesive backing and it becomes very difficult to notice them-I really do just fade into the background. I love having a panic button close to the bed. One thing I like about their external alarms is that they are weatherproof so I ordered one to put outside. One big potential downside to this system is that it may not be eligible for homeowners insurance discounts. Mine wasnt primarily because it was not monitored, and I would have to add fire sensors that were monitored 24 - 7 in order for my insurance company to consider discounting my homeowners. If you are considering the system, you might call your insurance company to see what it would take to qualify for any discounts. The system could well pay for itself over time. Without the monitoring, you just get an alert as you arm the system, and should you have an alarm, it will just sound at your base and any external alarms give might add. The add-on external alarms are quite loud and can be mounted outside because they are weatherproof and in my case neighbors can easily hear it.

Buyer beware! Here’s my last email I had to send SS. They aren’t t reliable. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had suspicious activity and SimpliSafe has let me down! I’m giving you 24 hours to respond -appropriately - or in posting this to every SimpliSafe review site I can find as well as social media. I want an actual fix that works. I want an entire system that if it loses a WiFi or cellular signal, will actively attempt to reconnect until it is reconnected. I want email and app notifications when a camera for whatever reason cannot reconnect. I want a camera that both streams and records. If you can’t give me this real soon, I want you to send me a box with a shipping label and a full refund for all my purchases. Last night someone covered my front lawn with advertising signs. All my other WiFi devices were online but not the SimpliSafe cameras. All three cameras were offline during the night and captured none of it. I would press charges but because of SimpliSafe, I have no evidence! Several weekends ago, a strange man came ringing our doorbell. The SimpliSafe camera initially detected motion but eouldnt show me the live video but the doorbell rang. He stood there over 5 minutes. I was driving home trying to get there fast enough. Eventually the camera came on so I could watch but it didn’t record because it can’t record and steam at the same time.

This review is about customer service and not the Simplisafe system. I literally cannot get in touch with anyone regarding SimpliSafe. The call wait times are almost an hour and I CANNOT get anyone to email me back. This is ridiculous!

I put this thing up as well as set up a few fobs in about 30 minutes, it was amazing. I love all the options and so far the app is good (I cannot remember ever seeing an app in the App Store with so many 5 star reviews). For the price it’s a good value and so is the basic monitoring. Packaging was very millenial … you will understand when you open it.

This is perfect and worked exactly as advertised. Very easy to setup took less than 30 minutes in a small 2 bedroom home.
