Greater than one weekThe concept is very attractive, lots of positive reviews that makes me question their credibility, justified by the fact that the indoor motion sensors get triggered randomly, and the cameras are pretty bad in regards to zone detection, especially outdoor, I got packages stolen from my front porch twice so far and the camera failed to record the occurrences. Too bad. Bye bye Simplisafe, I’m getting a classic hardwired cctv system that will record continuously.

> 3 dayHorrible. Two weeks after install, door sensors stopped working. Motion sensor never worked. I have consistently had issues with the App not connecting to base station. A total waste of money.

> 3 dayWe bought this in response to all the advertisements and positive reviews, but have had the opposite experience. Two of our sensors are constantly not responding and then they work again a little while later. One sensor is out of battery already a few months after buying the system. Our camera goes offline all the time and flashes a yellow light. Id spend more money on a hardwired system next time.

Greater than one weekIt’s easiest to organize my thoughts into pros and cons, so here goes! Pros: -Easy setup. No tools or tech knowledge required (okay, I do recommend getting a level for when you mount the control box because you don’t want it crooked on your wall!). Despite the ease of setup, it’s still highly customizable as far as security settings and number of peripherals and extras that can be added. -The monthly plans of $15 and $25/month are competitive with other DIY systems, and it’s great not to have a contract for service as you would with someone like ADT. -Large number of base kit options, but we have a smaller home, so I think the Essentials kit is (almost) perfect for us. I think I’ll just need to add one more window/door sensor. -Technology like the broken glass sensor is really great for those who have windows more likely to be broken through rather than opened. We have a dining room in the back of our house with 6 windows in a row, and this sensor is perfect for the room. -The base is compatible with Alexa -You can customize all the times for getting in and out of the house before the alarm goes off on you -Motion detectors are designed not to have your pets set them off (great for us cat owners!) -Battery backup for 24 hours ensures that a power outage won’t give burglars a handicap during major storms -Smashproof technology, so even if a burglar sees the alarm base or control panel and smashes them to pieces, SimpliSafe will still be able to notify the authorities Cons: -This is not backwards compatible with any of your accessories from the first and second generations of SimpliSafe’s home security system. -There isn’t a doorbell system like Ring has, but I think perhaps that technology is not far off. -There isn’t a good solution for arming our garage door (again—yet, as this could always be corrected and offered as an upgrade). Not as much of an issue for us as this is the part of the house that is least likely to be broken into. -I would like the alarm on the base unit to be louder at its loudest volume. It’s important to keep the base out of hiding (don’t put it in a cabinet because it’s not loud enough and might be muffled too much to detract a burglar who has just entered from proceeding to do their business). -If you have a medium- or larger-sized house, you can easily double the cost (or more) of the standard package by purchasing all the extra sensors and detectors you might need. Could be costly. Even though they sell a higher end package named after Fort Knox, you’re probably not going to feel like your home is quite at THAT level of security with any DIY security package you purchase. Although, the tech is admittedly getting better all the time and could soon be comparable to professional home security. In the end, I think most of those seeking a DIY security system are looking for elevated piece of mind moreso than just making their homes 100% theft- and break-in proof. And this product certainly gets the job done in that regard at a price a lot more of us can afford.

> 3 dayAfter installing the SimpliSafe system, I discovered that emergency services would not be dispatched unless the emergency could be verified. Unless you purchased a system w/a camera or listening mic, theres no way to verify the emergency w/o extra expense. Additionally, their monitoring service is required ($25/month) so you can connect w/your system via their app, or your smart phone. In summary, the system is useless unless youre at home. I shouldve done more research on this product before I purchased it and SimpliSafe needs to be more forthcoming on their tv & radio commercials. I have no problem with Amazon what so ever, but I thought. Amazon customers should know these facts about SimpliSafe.

> 3 dayWith discounts I paid $136 plus tax for this. Seems like a great deal to me. Took about two hours to set up start to finish including the software setup and mounting the sensors. Tested everything and it all seems to work fine. Used online chat to ask customer support if my ceiling fan would set off the motion sensor and was done in less than 5 minutes. (It wont by the way). I subscribed to the mid level monitoring. I am going to spend another $25 for the fob. No complaints at all so far.

> 3 dayI bought this system directly from SimpliSafe’s website and have subscribed to its $14.99/month plan but being an Amazon Prime member, would like to give my review as I strongly feel about it. In today’s world, with the way the technology is advancing, I think it is absolutely unfair that SimpliSafe doesn’t provide the remote arming and disarming of the security system on their app even in the $14.99/month plan! One needs to subscribe to $24.99/month to get it even though they don’t want all the other useless features. SimpliSafe, you are selling a security system that goes in hundreds of dollars, at least have the courtesy to give this feature on your app for free even if a customer is not subscribing to your monthly plans!! It’s a basic need!! It’s even more surprising and mind boggling that you don’t provide the feature even in the $15/month subscription! What kind of world you live in SimpliSafe??? It’s utter shameful and highly unethical!! It’s not about money! It’s customer satisfaction!!

> 3 dayVery cool idea kinda a DIY security system but door monitors and wifi cameras are very susceptible to radio jamming and wifi jamming and could easily be disabled by anyone near the secure location
