Greater than one weekUnfortunatly the cable quality has really gone downhill for these drives. I ordered my second drive to back some stuff up and the cable was dead, could spin the drive and that was about it. I knew it was the cable because others seemed to work fine. The replacement sent now has the same issue less than a month into owning it. Ill be avoiding Transcend external drives from now on.

Greater than one weekTranscend are my favorite portable large capacity drives, Ive purchased them for years for my small business clients and have had great experience. I have had one or two fail, but Transcend RMA has been very quick to replace them for no charge.

> 3 daySolidly built and more importantly actually has 4TB of data space (it may show as 3.7 TiB in the 1024 x 1024 x 1024 x1024 calculation). Many solid-state drives especially Kingston we have found to have less than the GB (even accounting for GiB) advertised, so this is good. Will update this review after using it for some time, since we have just purchased it and all initial indications are good.

> 3 dayWorks good so far. Time will tell if it hold up. Update: Catastrophic failure 2years 4months. This HD was backup of data history. HD did not travel and was stored in archive. HD gets warm and makes ticking noise. HD works painfully slow for short periods if frozen. At this rate will take ~14months working 24/7 to retrieve data. Probably time to invest in solid state storage.
