> 3 dayAnother item to watch the pricing on. I paid around £66 for this, and its now £104! Ive no idea how rugged it is (I try not to drop hard drives), but it certainly feels chunky and heavy. Transfer speeds are lower than I expected even after a reformat and integrity check. I suspect that this is due to an exceptionally slow drive being fitted rather than the interface itself. For what it is, its a bit of a bargain at the price I paid, but I would be extremely upset with the performance if I had paid £104 for it.

> 3 dayThe item is not operating properly. Just arrived today and on first use copying to it from another hard drive- the connection keeps logging out and telling me that the device is not recognized. I believe that the cable supplied is defective (have seen a report on that on another buyers feedback). No trying to use another cable from my other hard drives. Will have to order a replacement cable. NOT GOOD ENOUGH for a price of over £104.....

> 3 dayMy 3rd Transcend external drive. I bought a 1 TB several years ago and have been pleased with it. As my storage needs have grown, Ive bought a 2TB and recently this one. To date all have worked well and been problem-free.

> 3 dayI purchased two of these 4TB drives to do a quick transfer of data off my server so I could upgrade its internal drives. I opened, this BRAND NEW drive, transferred 2 years of work onto it and reformatted my Drobo. Then went to transfer data back to the Drobo (within 10 hrs of starting the process), the drive wouldnt even mount. Tried several cables and switching computers. Shipped the drive back to Transcend who not only didnt confirm theyd received the drive, they were unable to recover the data. Instead of sending me a new drive I have to get the faulty one sent back just so I can try to find someone else to try data recovery. I have several of their 1TB drives that I will now start replacing based on this experience. As you can see from the photo, I pamper these babies and do not use them for just carrying around. Lesson Learned.

> 3 daySolidly built and more importantly actually has 4TB of data space (it may show as 3.7 TiB in the 1024 x 1024 x 1024 x1024 calculation). Many solid-state drives especially Kingston we have found to have less than the GB (even accounting for GiB) advertised, so this is good. Will update this review after using it for some time, since we have just purchased it and all initial indications are good.
