> 3 dayIve had Webroot installed for about 6 weeks now. This replaced Kaspersky Total Security. I run Windows 10 Home on an older Dell laptop. I can only presume Webroot is doing what it says it is. It runs a scan every day in the background and it is hardly noticeable. Kaspersky used all but freeze my system for hours. Task manager would show 100% disk or 98% CPU usage. Kaspersky would run a rootkit scan and a quick scan at least once a day, One complaint I have about webroot is there are no logs or reports (that Ive been able to find thus far) to review its activity. Im very pleased with how my system is running. I spent a couple days reading reviews on various packages and this seemed highly rated.

> 3 dayJust got this. A big mistake. Yes, it is ostensibly easy to configure. Although with some of the parameters, its not clear what exactly youre configuring or what the potential impact of your various choices would be. How hard would a little more explanation be, for those who want it?. Huge frustration has been the browser filter extensions. Had to uninstall and reinstall both Webroot and Firefox several time before the filter extension for Firefox began to work. Weirdly and somewhat disturbingly, though, the Firefox icon was changed to a blank icon, as though Firefox keeps getting corrupted by Webroot in some way. Not sure what thats about and cant figure out a way to resolve it. Still cant get the damn filter extension for IE to work, despite the fact that IEs add-on manager says that its there and enabled. Way, way too much time wasted on this already. Ugh. After all of that time wasted, I went online and found that Webroots been struggling with the browser filter extensions for some time now. All kinds of problems. Multiple iterations of releases. And, still not resolved. While searching on the web for a solution to the browser filter extension problems, I ran across this on the Webroot website from Feb 2015: This is essentially down to the way that WSA works; it does not scan your entire drive and every file by default but rather it only scans for active files/apps, on the premise that if malware is dormant/inactive then it is not a threat...which makes absolute sense when you really think about it...but the moment that a dormant file/app starts to run/goes active WSA pounces on it, determines if good or bad and acts accordingly, i.e., allows to proceed or blocks & cleans, etc. OMG, are you kidding? So, Webroot doesnt actually find and eliminate threats already on your hard drive, but waits until theyre running and then tries to stop them??? I dont need to point out the obvious shortcomings of that approach. Would be nice to know what Webroots privacy policy is without having to dig for it. The fact that its deeply buried somewhere (Ive not been able to locate it) likely isnt a good sign. It also struck me as odd and troubling that theres no option in the settings for what info gets sent or not sent to Webroot, like with all other virus protection software Ive ever used. I can only assume the worst. Finally, upon looking more closely at the Amazon reviews which led me to buy this in the first place, its hard not to wonder whether a lot of the reviews are bogus and were written by Webroot-paid trolls. There are the tell-tale signs of this: Many reviewers did not make a verified purchase and/or wrote a simple one line review and/or have never reviewed any other product. Frustrating. Very worrisome. Will return.

Greater than one weekI used the top 2 most popular brands in the past and when my subscription ended for this last company, I decided to try Webroot. My sister has been saying how great it is for years. But I was apprehensive about changing. Boy and I glad I did. It was trivial to install and now my computer comes on so much faster. The scans are faster as well. There are only 2 things I wish were different. One is that the little safe web icons (green check marks) do not appear for Firefox browser. Or at least I was unable to find an add-on extension that would allow it. I do have it on Chrome though. So I do my web searches on Chrome now. Also, I lost a feature from my prior software that had a safe money feature for when I signed onto my bank and investment accounts or used my credit card for a purchase. But Im not even sure what that feature was. So for all I know, it didnt do anything more than Webroot does. Anyway, Im very happy with this change. Only time will tell if I get annoying reminders to renew online toward the end of my subscription. I dont like doing that because the price is always higher that way. I prefer to buy it on Amazon each year to get the best price. That said, it would be nice if the renewal price was competitive with the new purchase price so I didnt have to go through that effort.

> 3 dayI used Webroot for several years and trusted it completely. It constantly works in the background and you never really know its there. When renewal time came, it always tried to get me to auto-renew for $79.00 per year! Instead I turned off auto-renew and went to Amazon and bought a package for $39.00 every year, and that worked perfect until this year. I couldnt get a pass code that would work from Amazon. Amazon said it was a Webroot issue and Webroot said it was an Amazon issue... I was NEVER able to get it worked out so I bought another package. This new package immediately found a virus on my phone! It wasnt just a virus, it was a keylogger, so I dont know how long my every key stroke was being recorded and sent to who knows who! I cannot recommend Webrood based on the active virus it missed and the fact that I could not get my renewal ussue worked out.

> 3 dayWebroot has caught many threats to my computers. It works automatically and can also be worked manually. Their are also some settings that users may choose from that may cover some special concerns. It is fast as it is configured. But I found one threat that it had missed by going directly to the whole operating system, C: drive, and start the app from there. It took a long time to run that way, and it only caught one threat. I plan to use it this way only twice a year. And I will renew my contract soon. UPDATE - 10/17/15: All of the above is or was true, Im jut angry with them. The CD they sent me would not accept the Product Code, the on line help is all robotic. I wasted two hours and got nowhere. Im leaving the 4-STARS posted, but Im sending the software back and changing my digital security to Norton.

Greater than one weekExceelent Product! I have been using Kaspersky in my computers for 4 years - and love it. Only problem I had wasI knew that there was a discrepency in my hard drive and it just wouldnt go away. I read up on many othere anti- Virus, Malware protection programs and I took the chancce at using WEBROOT. I am more than glad of the results. I used it on the computer that I had spoke of , and once I took out Kaspersky and loaded Webrrot - it founf and eliminated the problems instantly! Needless to say I am up and running - I use it on all my computers now!

Greater than one weekI have had this software installed for a few months. And so far, so good. One of the reasons why I purchased this software was because of the chart on the product page that compared how much memory this software used compared to other competing and popular security products (e.g., Norton, Mcafee, etc.) I have not seen a huge difference in machine/processing speed or performance compared to the Norton security software (which I used for the past several years). But, I have not had any problems with Webroot, and the product has alerted me several times or blocked a few websites when a threat was detected. The other reason why I purchased Webroot was the price. It is much cheaper than other name-brand security software packages. So, for the price and solid results-- Webroot seems to be a good choice.

Greater than one weekIve used Webroot for over 3 years. Never gotten a virus on any of my machines while using webroot. Amazon sells this version for less(almost $10) less than any of the big box stores, and also less than Webroot offered me to renew. This product scans your machine faster than any other product Ive used! However, it will block certain functions on a machine that uses Windows 10. I installed it on my new Windows 10 laptop, and Webroot conflicted with touchpad issues, and slowed down Windows 10 updates. Windows 10 supposedly has a built in virus protection. When I removed Webroot from my new laptop, the touchpad issues, and the slow update issues disappeared. Caveat. These are just my experiences. Also, this is not a download, but, product includes the disc. And a renew code. If one already has Webroot, the renew code can be entered without playing the disc. But, if one of the devices you need to install the program on, is not at your location, it is good that this product includes the disc, as you can take the disc with you to the other location. I have computers of mine at several locations. I only wish Webroot would supply support for more than 5 devices, like the other antivirus programs do You can always add a device, for more money, online at their website. But, I wish theyd sell the product, to cover all ones devices.

Greater than one weekI want to start by saying that I am in no way an expert about computers or software. I installed this yesterday on my laptop computer. About an hour after installation, I got a visual and a verbal message from a scam. A large box popped up and a womans voice said, Hello Comcast customer. You are one of two customers chosen today to win an iphone 8 (there were also three other choices) The only way to get out of it was to click OK so I had to shut the computer down to get out of it. On the Webroot package it has a list of protections including: 1.Blocks fake websites that can steal your personal information, 2. warns you of potentially dangerous sites and links before you click. I guess I find it strange that this happened an hour after Webroot was installed after never seeing anything like this before. I dont know what this means but it has diminished my faith in this product.

> 3 dayThis is the third year using this product and very satisfied with the software Fast and doesnt take up to much space. My only caution is tho make sure you know what you are buying and where it is from. This review is for the Secure Anywhere Internet Security Complete.for 5 Devices Last year,I had a problem when purchased this. I received an incorrect software.- Internet Security for 3 Devices. Not realizing, I installed it and then found out something wasnt right because is showed as an Antivirus software. Amazon was great to help me rectify the situation and I received the correct software. Make sure you read the fine print as, I tried to uninstall the incorrect software but could not remove the key code. Webroot tells me that this code belongs to a Webroot software sold by Best Buy and I would have to contact Best Buy to get this removed. Well Best Buy wants a fee to remove a product that they sell. Go figure.
