My late 2008 macbook pro was pretty much dead so instead of buying a new laptop I decided to try to bring it back to life one last time. I was in doubt between crucial and samsung. They both had great reviews so I decided to go with crucial because of the lower price for more space. This SSD worked perfectly! My macbook is acting like new now!! I used this SSD as my main disk, removed the cd slot, bought a HD caddy, and put the old HD there. I also upgraded the memory from 2g to 8g(apple says my model would only work up to 4g but its not true, 8g is working great!). Even my roommate commented that it seemed faster than his 2014 macbook pro (his macbook has 16g and runs with a samsung SSD and the original HD).

Best upgrade for your computer by far. I have installed 3 SSDs in my laptops. The first one was a sandisk and its performance was okay. I have to say I will stick to Crucial after installing 2 of them. The Crucial SSD is much faster. I am very happy and will use them again.

When it comes to SSDs, unless your putting them into a server the sued differences between them will almost certainly be negligible. For home users what should be important is if it works out of the box and how long it lasts... I have purchased 9 different crucial drives in the last 2 years and have not had a single problem yet. For the price and performance gains its almost a no brainer to add an SSD to your laptop or desktop computer.

Bought this for two reasons. My six year old laptop still had its original HHD in it, and with an average life of four years I was on borrowed time before it failed. The other, I wanted a faster laptop but didnt to replace it as there was nothing wrong with it. The best and far cheaper solution was to upgrade to a SSD. Wow, what a difference it has made, the laptop is like brand new. Should be good enough for me for a few more years.

For my main desktop been waiting for a drive that made sense with a ~300GB Boot drive...This is the best deal from a reliable company for anything much bigger than 500GB...Mushkin 1TB is the only other option but that is kinda slow...MX300 is a winner. Hint make regular backups, (Paragon have a free version backup app available that will even move an OS drive to different hardware). Super drive got multiple sizes (275GB for the laptop)

Had great expectations. But after receiving it and then realizing I could not use it in my MacBook pro. Because it has flash storage . its now for resale. But I have used this product on other computers and they are great!!!!

Drive is very good and fast. Loads windows 10 up in about 20 seconds on a cold start up with a budget HP 15 laptop. I will say this though for the inexperienced, if you have a low memory budget machine (like this one which only maxes out at 8 gigs), then make sure you dont enable momentum cache in Crucials Storage Executive software. It could cause audio jitters during playback. Another thing is that the Acronis software caused a lot of crashes for some strange reason. It worked flawlessly throughout the cloning procedure, but after a couple of months it started crashing a lot. So just make sure you save the code and uninstall it if you start getting that problem.

Works great in my new build. Since I am no speed freak, it worked out fine for me. It is bigger than a 500 GB but less than 1 TB. Unless you need that extra speed of a Samsung EVO 500 GB, an extra twenty bucks can normally get you this. I do own two Samsung EVO 850 500 GB and I am very happy with them. But since I am not a serious gamer anymore or doing scientific/CAD calculations, this is a great drive for the price. I like both brands. If you are looking for the top of the line, then you will need to spend on a Samsung Pro version. Based on my usage, this drive should last me 10+ years without much problems.

I bought this for only $99 around Thanksgiving weekend. I used it in a desktop system to replace a 240GB Intel 520-series that was about 80% full. I dont notice any difference in performance, but I know theres not much difference between SATA SSDs unless you buy a DRAM-less model, and those can be much slower. Ive had good experiences with the MX100, BX100, and MX200 SSDs from Crucial and I dont expect this will be any different.

I got one for me and one for my wife. It took less than 2 hours to clone my wifes 750 GB regular spinning drive to this SSD using CloneZilla. Mine is running Slackware-current and is lightning fast
