I just finished using this Crucial MX300 750GB SSD on a fresh WIndows 7 install - the specs for the box are an ASUS PM8Z77-V LE motherboard, and i5-3570K Processor, 16GB of Corsair DDR3 and and MSI Twin Frozr Video Card. The build went smoothly, no hitches related to the new drive. The computer formerly had a 1TB 7200rpm WD mechanical drive. The Windows Experience for the Hard Drive was 5.9 before the build, and maxxed out at 7.9 after the build. The box is now blazingly fast on boot up, and the system is no longer bottlenecked by the hard drive. I have installed a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB on an identically built machine a few months back (I have twin boys with the exact same build gaming system), and the performance of this Crucial drive is just as good. I did not do any detailed benchmarking, all assessments are based purely on boot times, and basic access times. I have had absolutely no issues with this SSD to date - I actually bought a 500GB Crucial yesterday for an old Vaio laptop. I liked the performance so much that I stuck with it for my next build. My wife has a 1TB Sandisk Ultra II in her Dell All-in-One desktop, and I like both the Crucial and Samsung better than the SanDisk after working with all three. Recommended - so far so good - if anything changes, I will update the review. Note this only comes with the plastic cheap mounting base, and no software, but I am told you can download the software for a transfer of data from your old drive - read other reviews for that information. I did a fresh build, so transfer software was not needed. UPDATE: I enabled Momentum Cache, and was having issues with simple things like Microsoft Security Essentials scans completing (they would freeze), and updating Windows Experience (it would error out on disk check) and other strange disk issues. Long story short, I disabled Momentum Cache, and the problems went away. The same thing was happening on my laptop where I installed a 500GB Crucial MX300... this issue cost me a lot of time and head scratching, and as soon as I disabled Momentum Cache everything was fixed. I am having doubts that Momentum Cache has some side affects, but could be wrong. It appeared to be isolated to it on my computer.

I purchased this drive to replace the OEM 5400 RPM drive in my approximately six month old ASUS laptop. Cloning the original drive was fast and easy using the provided (by download using the included authorization code) Acronis software which has fully automatic or user defined partitioning. You will need an external hard drive case or buy the Crucial USB adapter kit as an installation kit is not included. I would highly recommend buying an external (USB 3.0) case because after you clone your original drive, you can then install it in the case and use it as a back up storage drive. As for performance, the drive works great. The difference in the speed of my computer is massive. Boot time is about 8 seconds (Windows 10), programs load and operate much faster. Battery life is longer and the computer is silent and cooler in general. The only downside I can find is that after using a solid state drive, Ill never be able to put up with old fashioned mechanical drives again!

This Solid State Drive is working Excellent. Computer starts up and is running after BIOS starts in about eight seconds. I needed to contact Crucial to get software recommendations to make the SSD to its fullest size by increasing the partition, as the cloning software that I used (Macrium Reflect) mirrored my computer. Once done, you uninstall the free Partition software and the clone software. For those who have never owned a Solid State Drive, please note that you NEVER Defragment the drive, as this will degrade the performance of your SSD. Just turn this off under services.msc in your start menu. NOTE also, contrary to some websites, you can leave Windows Search turned on as this will speed up your computer even more when looking for things. Remember, DISABLE defragment and ensure that you have Optimize for SSD checked in Macrium Reflect. The clone process takes about One hour on a 500GB HDD to a 698 SSD. I do not recommend the Acronis software as it does not run within a Windows environment and will display errors, use the Free Macrium Reflect software instead.

I got one for me and one for my wife. It took less than 2 hours to clone my wifes 750 GB regular spinning drive to this SSD using CloneZilla. Mine is running Slackware-current and is lightning fast

This was BIG DEAL!! Just less than $100. (in 2016 Late) It is in my PS4 Original. Loading is short than HDD. And, it’s not have problem.

For my main desktop been waiting for a drive that made sense with a ~300GB Boot drive...This is the best deal from a reliable company for anything much bigger than 500GB...Mushkin 1TB is the only other option but that is kinda slow...MX300 is a winner. Hint make regular backups, (Paragon have a free version backup app available that will even move an OS drive to different hardware). Super drive got multiple sizes (275GB for the laptop)

This is a very fast little SSD. I have an Asus ROG GL552VW laptop which already has a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB m.2 SSD for OS and a 1TB 2.5 HDD that came with the laptop. I removed the ODD of my laptop and used a HDD caddy to move the HDD to this position. Then I connected the MX300 in the place of the HDD. I have dedicated the MX300 for my Steam, Origin and Uplay collection. The difference is performance is obvious. Games load much faster and I feel there is less to no stuttering in games like Shadow of Mordor and No Mans sky where large draw distances are used. So it should work well with games with large open maps.

Used it as a replacement for my 500GB Dell laptop OEM HD and have loved it since. Did have a little problem transferring cloning the original HD onto it but overcame that easily. Boot up time is fast and obviously file access is equally rapid. I dont have any benchmark studies but am completely satisfied with its performance. Virus scans provide the most extreme example of the speed gains with a SSD. The Quick Scan for Microsoft Defender virus check is so fast I was completely caught off guard when it flashed complete. The original OEM HD was no slouch but this is in a class by itself. Not quite instantaneous in loading files and programs but fast enough to satisfy me for a relatively modest investment.

I put this in my mid-2012 MacBook at the same time I upgraded from 8 GB to 16 GB RAM. I copied the old hard drive over in its entirety. Worked great. Takes about 15 seconds for startup vs 28 seconds previously. Converted a large video file in 18 minutes that took over an hour previously. Not sure how much is due to the SSD drive vs the RAM, but I am very happy with the new performance.

Increase the speed, durability, and efficiency of your system for years to come with the Crucial MX300 SSD. Boot up in seconds and fly through the most demanding applications with an SSD that fuses the latest 3D NAND flash technology with the proven success of previous MX-series SSDs. Your storage drive isn"t just a container, it"s the engine that loads and saves everything you do and use. Get more out of your computer by boosting nearly every aspect of performance.
