Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are enhanced remakes of the original Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, which released on the Game Boy Advance 11 years ago. A few necessary changes have been made to the original versions to keep up with the newer generations, and some additional features have been added to give the games a fresh feeling to veteran players. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ALPHA SAPPHIRE AND OMEGA RUBY Like usual, two versions of the same game are available. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are nearly identical; however, there are a few differences between the two that are larger than most alternate versions. The biggest alteration between the two versions is the main antagonist team. In Pokemon Omega Ruby, Team Magma will be the primary team you encounter throughout Hoenn. In Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, Team Aqua will be the primary team you encounter throughout Hoenn. VERSION EXCLUSIVE POKEMON In addition to slight story changes, select Pokemon will only be available in one of the versions. These version exclusive Pokemon are usually made to promote trading between players. All players can trade over wi-fi between X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire immediately after obtaining the Pokedex and installing the Player Search System app on the PokeNav Plus. Omega Ruby Exclusives--- Alpha Sapphire Exclusives Groudon ------------- Kyogre Latios ------------- Latias Mawile --------------- Sableye Seedot ---------------- Lotad Nuzleaf ---------------- Lombre Shiftry --------------- Ludicolo Solrock --------------- Lunatone Zangoose --------------Seviper Ho-Oh (Mirage Spots) --- Lugia (Mirage Spots) Palkia (Mirage Spots) --- Dialga (Mirage Spots) Reshiram (Mirage Spots)--- Zekrom (Mirage Spots) Tornadus (Mirage Spots)---- Thundurus (Mirage Spots) Kabuto (Fossils) --------- Omanyte (Fossils) Shieldon (Fossils) -------Cranidos (Fossils) Archen (Fossils) ------------ Tirtouga (Fossils) Skrelp (After Groudon)----------- Clauncher (After Kyogre) Throh (After Groudon) ------------ Sawk (After Kyogre) Mega Stones will not be version exclusive, but the locations of a handful of Mega Stones will change depending on the version. Also the looks of certian Mega-Evolved Pokemon will change depending on which version you have. Hope this helps anyone out!

it arrived a little early and in perfect condition. My son says its a little harder to get started w the game, but hes a newer gamer and young. So take that w a grain of salt. He also got a new playing system (the 3ds vs the 2ds) at the same time.

Its a great game! I especially love the Soaring ability and the updated graphics. I just wish some of the elements like the Battle Frontier had also been included in this version, or the ability to customize your trainer. I loved the new post-elite four episode!

Absolutely my favorite Gen. in the series. Hoenn is unlike any other region to date, there is nothing like it as well. The memories came rolling in as soon as the soundtrack tuned! This one scores huge nostalgia points with me as I was only 10 when RS hit America. I went for Ruby the first time around (which I paid for with hard earned house work cash - pretty good for a 10-year-old) so I decide to go with Alpha Sapphire. Gen 3 wasnt my first go in the series. I started watching the Anime in 1997, and first played Pokemon Gold 2001on a lime green Gameboy Color (which I also earned money for!!). Hoenn holds a dear spot in my memories and Heart (Heart Gold... Pun lol!). I would most certainly recommend this to old fans and newcomers alike. Also, those of you who started after the Third Gen. or simply think you are too old, well... think again. Nobody is to old for Mons. Do yourself a solid and pick up a copy. I still havent progressed very far past the second gym due to the awesome new features; the DexNav to be specific. So many awesome new feature -- no Battle Frontier, however. Pick up one of these titles for sure. If you have doubts then put them aside. Hope you all enjoy as much as I do.

This game is for the most part an excellent remake for an old favorite of mine. The only real issue I have is the particular feature of Dex nav which is a feature that tracks wild Pokemon on given routes. The biggest problem with this is that it can bring in may be about 10 levels higher then the others in the area, for earlier players this can be catastrophic to have to face and for me personally the Pokemon in those given circumstances have cost me half my team to bring just one down. That being said the higher levels are typically a lot more rare and youre usually notified when your target is one. Again I love this game and do recomend

I personally thought pokemon did a bad job previously with ds games, diamond/pearl were okay but I was disappointed with heart gold, but X and Y were pretty good but they stepped it up in these games. Great graphics, I love the storyline of sapphire and overall they did a great job on this game. Ive been a huge pokemon game fan for 12 years and Im telling you that youll be happy with this purchase. If you liked the GBA version of these games, youll really enjoy these new ones. If not message me and Ill buy your omega ruby if you dont like it.

First things first. If you get the reference in the review headline, kudos! :) Alright, down to business. Many people who are considering this game are long-time Pokemon fans who have played the original Ruby, Sapphire and/or Emerald. Many consider the Hoenn region to be the best of all of the regions to date. If this is how you feel, you wont be let down by this game. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire rebuild the entirety of the Hoenn region in spectacular 3D. Every route is nearly identical. Some routes and areas have new paths or areas tacked on to give them a fresh, remastered feel. Nintendo left no stone unturned in this remastered Hoenn region. SUPER-SECRET BASES The secret bases of the original game make their return with WiFi features! Its great fun to decorate your base in a manner that makes it quite difficult (but NOT impossible) to take your flag. :) POKEMON Nothing new to see here! Thats probably a relief. Im sure many long-time fans of the original R/S/E wouldnt like to see new Pokemon from later generations added to the wild Pokemon roster. :) You can find wild Pokemon from other generations after defeating the Elite 4, but not during your normal pre-Elite 4 playthrough. POKENAV PLUS The PokeNav Plus is a great upgrade to the original PokeNav. You still receive the Player Search System (or PSS) for online functions, Super Training and Pokemon Amie. Other new features are added, such as the DexNav which allows you to search for and chain specific Pokemon similarly to the PokeRadar. The AreaNav is essentially the town map, but on the lower screen! It can show you where you have berries ready to harvest, the Trainers Eyes app is there, and you can locate Super-Secret Bases with it, as well! EXPLORING The Hoenn region was probably the first region to really include any in-depth exploration opportunities. All the same opportunities exist, with a few extra thrown in! Some routes have new areas or paths tacked on, and there are entirely new secret areas added for Super-Secret Bases! ;) EXPERIENCE Overall, I have more than 80 hours pumped into this game (I only play when my girlfriend does) and still have not gone to the Elite 4. There is just that much to do in the game. The DexNav has taken up the majority of my time, though. But be careful with the DexNav and Exp. Share! As a result of my abuse of the DexNav and always-on Exp. Share (you can turn it off), my entire team is over leveled by upwards of 25! My Sceptile is almost level 70 and I still dont have the Sootopolis badge. CONCLUSION If you like Pokemon, this should be a no-brainer. If you liked the original Ruby, Sapphire and/or Emerald, this should be a no-brainer. What are you waiting for? Grab yourself a copy today!

Super game - especially if you havent played the original versions! Great game for first timers, not so much for people whove played it already. Even if you have, the newer features and online play make for a good reason to replay. Now - I know the game feels fundamentally the same as Pokemon X/Y, and has recycled a lot of the features there - but regardless - you can still feel an affinity towards this game in general - and is solid pokemon - and has some great changes to the pokemon roster you can enjoy. 5 stars for newcomers, 4 stars for returning players (basically the older games with new features). Im new, so 5.
