Pokemon Sapphire was my first Pokemon game all the way back in 2003. 11 years later in 2014, I bought a 3DS XL SPECIFICALLY to play this game. (And Pokemon Y) I was not disappointed. Despite having essentially played this story probably 100 times over the years, it was still an amazing experience thanks to new graphics and game play improvements. The post game was also amazing with the Delta Episode, and this was one of the longer Pokemon games for me, taking over 45 hours to beat the game, post game, and capture all the legendaries. A must buy for Pokemon fans old and new.

I personally thought pokemon did a bad job previously with ds games, diamond/pearl were okay but I was disappointed with heart gold, but X and Y were pretty good but they stepped it up in these games. Great graphics, I love the storyline of sapphire and overall they did a great job on this game. Ive been a huge pokemon game fan for 12 years and Im telling you that youll be happy with this purchase. If you liked the GBA version of these games, youll really enjoy these new ones. If not message me and Ill buy your omega ruby if you dont like it.

Hoenn was never my favorite of the Pokemon regions. The remakes, while containing wonderful graphics, some really entertaining new mechanics, and an ever-present nostalgia factor, left me a little bored. I didnt have that urge that I just couldnt put the game down. Its been out for 3 months now, and Im just now getting around to finishing up the Elite Four and embarking on post-game. There are weeks that will go by without me even picking this game up. Its not something specific about the game that turns me off - there are just other things, other games, that Id just rather play more. That being said, technically, this game is the best one to date. Encountering Pokemon in the actual world, and being able to sneak up on them, is a real blast. I also like the addition of the DexNav, which for a completionist like me, allows me to keep track of what Pokemon Ive encountered on a route and how many of those Ive managed to catch. The addition of overworld flying on Latios/Latias is actually pretty cool, and bring the idea of flying from place to place to a whole new level. There were also more story line additions this game, with cut scenes that broke away from the character sprite to give the game a bit more world feel - not everything occurs right in front of you. I dont know how thrilled I am about being able to catch every legend - on the one hand, I think its a great idea to make everyone feel like there is plenty to keep them engrossed in the game. Legends arent just for hardcore Pokemon gamers (which I am not). But, they kind of feel like they lose their special qualities when I know everyone is going to have them. Overall, I give the game 4 stars, because I still want to finish it. I just dont enjoy it enough to sit there for 4-6 hours a day, grinding through the game as fast as I can to see what happens next. I do think, however, that they added enough to keep it interesting, and Im excited to see what is next for the franchise that I have (literally) grown up with.

I get to re-live my childhood once again! When I was little, Pokemon Sapphire was my first game (my little sister had Pokemon Ruby) and now I get to play the remake in a whole new way! I just like everything about this remake and I also like the feature that you can join with others online at anytime instead of being interrupted during your gameplay (that happens when you play Pokemon X & Y). The gameplay redesign is fantastic and I love that you can interact with your pocket monsters & I also like that the Exp. Share works with all the Pokemon in your party (makes training a whole lot easier). This game is definitely worth getting and I would also suggest getting the guide book too. Tons of fun! Way to go Nintendo! Now lets see a 3DS release of Pokemon Yellow.

Respectable game, but not as good as the original R/S/E.

Absolutely my favorite Gen. in the series. Hoenn is unlike any other region to date, there is nothing like it as well. The memories came rolling in as soon as the soundtrack tuned! This one scores huge nostalgia points with me as I was only 10 when RS hit America. I went for Ruby the first time around (which I paid for with hard earned house work cash - pretty good for a 10-year-old) so I decide to go with Alpha Sapphire. Gen 3 wasnt my first go in the series. I started watching the Anime in 1997, and first played Pokemon Gold 2001on a lime green Gameboy Color (which I also earned money for!!). Hoenn holds a dear spot in my memories and Heart (Heart Gold... Pun lol!). I would most certainly recommend this to old fans and newcomers alike. Also, those of you who started after the Third Gen. or simply think you are too old, well... think again. Nobody is to old for Mons. Do yourself a solid and pick up a copy. I still havent progressed very far past the second gym due to the awesome new features; the DexNav to be specific. So many awesome new feature -- no Battle Frontier, however. Pick up one of these titles for sure. If you have doubts then put them aside. Hope you all enjoy as much as I do.

For those of you who have never played ruby and sapphire this game Is a must. They have stripped down the old hoenn and made it better than before. There Is a plethora of things to do and you may find ORAS taking up most of your free time. However, those familiar with the RSE games and didnt like them may find ORAS more of the same thing. Game freak really did good on this game and it is certainly a must for RSE fans. It would take forever too list all the good things about this game and I will strongly recommend you try it for yourself. (Beware, there is no battle frontier in this game And there is still tons of water, so if those are deal breakers for you dont buy it.)

Its a great game! I especially love the Soaring ability and the updated graphics. I just wish some of the elements like the Battle Frontier had also been included in this version, or the ability to customize your trainer. I loved the new post-elite four episode!

This is just a really enjoyable game, and a fantastic remake. It has all the nostalgia you could ask for while still looking great in 3D. Its still very similar to the original games but puts cool twists, and the new features are so much fun, especially the PokeNav Plus and the Super Secret Bases. I love that this game allows you to collect every single Pokemon in the National Pokedex within a single generation of games. While the middle of the game lulls a bit, the beginning and towards the end are so immersive i couldnt put the game down for weeks.
