Its a great game! I especially love the Soaring ability and the updated graphics. I just wish some of the elements like the Battle Frontier had also been included in this version, or the ability to customize your trainer. I loved the new post-elite four episode!

Usually I am not a huge fan of remakes, but I did not buy a 3DS for a very long time and I missed out on a lot of the new games. Long ago, I had a copy of ruby for my gameboy SP and I lost it somewhere when I was just 3 away from catching them all. I got this on a whim because I read online that between the new Ruby/Sapphire and X/Y you can catch everything with only one generations worth of games. That and the addition of the online trading made this the perfect game to finally fulfill my childhood fantasy of catching them all. It only took me 15 years to do it!

Nephew enjoyed this game and for the time played seemed to be a good value.

Super game - especially if you havent played the original versions! Great game for first timers, not so much for people whove played it already. Even if you have, the newer features and online play make for a good reason to replay. Now - I know the game feels fundamentally the same as Pokemon X/Y, and has recycled a lot of the features there - but regardless - you can still feel an affinity towards this game in general - and is solid pokemon - and has some great changes to the pokemon roster you can enjoy. 5 stars for newcomers, 4 stars for returning players (basically the older games with new features). Im new, so 5.

This game is basically pokemon sapphire for the gba but in 3d and with the newer pokemon , the only thing is that they either dumbed down or completely removed some puzzles in the game.It is also too easy to get a legendary , i got a latias and a Zekrom before i even saw kyogre in game.

As always, Pokemon continues to deliver. It doesnt simply take the original Sapphire and revamp the graphics; it adds new game mechanics, plotline, and characters. However, they really dropped the ball with the berries. In the original, all the different types of berry trees had unique sprites; in Alpha Sapphire, all the berry trees look the same. As someone who loved doing berry routes in the original game, this was a huge disappointment. In general, nostalgia made the game less enjoyable, as I was constantly comparing it to the original. Other than that, the game was great and I would definitely recommend it.

This game takes a while to get interesting. It felt like a chore compared to Pokemon X until about a third or a half of the way through the game. Its more of a rehash of the original Sapphire than I had hoped, but once you get to a certain point, this game is great. Im a sucker for nostalgia, so the (mostly) same old adventure with new moves and game mechanics is a lot of fun.

Respectable game, but not as good as the original R/S/E.

My first experience with Pokèmon was sapphire (in 2010) and I loved it. I logged over 180 hours. Alpha Sapphire has a good blend of new elements (mega evolve/ super training/ new cut scenes) while still holding true to its original source. To be fair, Im only up to Mosseped, but Ill review it so-far. Pros: * Faithful to Sapphires characters/ story. * Mega evolution. * New story/ character dialogue. * Its Sapphire & Pokèmon. * Kyogre OP Cons: * Type changes (ralts is fair & psychic, ect) * Length, probably more of an issue for vets. But it feels fairly short maybe 40-50 hours if you complete pokèdex along the way. Or 20 if you just beat the main story. UPDATE As predicted, I beat the delta episode in 35 hours. Not really speeding through, but, not doing optional things (contest/ pokedex) The main segment of the game is very familiar. I love sapphire, and it stayed true. The real selling point for me, was the Delta Episode (post game) which was a true conclusion to the Hoenn experience. id say this surpassed the original Sapphire & took over as my favorite game since Red. Any late comers or revisters to the wonderful world of Hoenn are in for a treat. Just bring a swimsuit. 10/10.

In the aftermath of X and Y, which were staggeringly wonderful, with a dynamic PokeDex, dynamic new animation, the gloriously empowered Exp. Share and dozens of other impressive features, AS and OR were somewhat of a letdown. The game itself is a little different than it was back in Generation III, but only in ways that were redundant with X and Y. The new Mega Evolutions were wonderful, but are not available until much later in the game than in X and Y. With the Exp. Share upgraded, a game where you previously had to struggle to get a full party above level 45 you can now end up with six Pokemon in their 80s. Unfortunately, the levels of the opponents Pokemon remained the same, turning a game that was an enjoyable challenge into an unfortunate breeze. With the Battle Maison returning from X and Y, we lose the one thing that made Third Gen (or Emerald Version, at least) so enjoyable, namely an immensely diverse and challenging Battle Frontier. There are some awesome new features like the ability to find rare Pokemon and keep track of what youve caught off of each route using the Trainers Eye, but more or less, this game was a disappointment. If given a choice between playing this again or playing Emerald, Id pick Emerald again in a heartbeat. And that says nothing in comparison to X and Y.
