There is not a lot new here that I am going to be able to share, that many others have already shared in these reviews. This SanDisk Extreme Pro is currently the Performance favorite at the Toms Hardware website, and the reviews tell the deeper story. I have the 480 GB version of this drive, and I purchased it to use as my Operating System drive in a new Intel based Z97 Computer, and did not want to go with a PCIe X 4 M.2 Drive quite yet. Having already used the Samsung and Crucial SSD SATA drives in the recent past, I decided to read up and see if there was anything else new to research, and I came upon the reviews for this drive. Yes, the Samsung is a great SSD, and is faster in short data bursts, but if you are doing any heavy duty data transfer or processing, this is the SSD to go with. The SanDisk Extreme Pro will tear through large random data transfers and maintain high speed and not get bogged down. Using this SSD to load Windows 7 Pro for the first time was incredible due to a very short load and set up time. This SSD is a real powerhouse, and the 10 year warranty is pretty nice too. Very glad I purchased this, but I will be looking for a PCIe X 4 M.2 SSD to make things even faster. I want to see SanDisks entry into that Market, which I believe will explode soon.

Good replacement for my EVO 850. My EVO 850 was a very fast unit except for one particular application: writing email in my gmail account online. Each time I would type, I had to wait seconds to see my text appear on the screen. I found nothing on the Internet that explain such phenomena. Everything else was blasting fast with my EVO. Following a friend idea, I ordered this unit, cloned the content off my EVO 850 onto it and gave it a try. With my naked eye this unit is very fast. There is plenty of benchmarking data for that available out there to tell you if it is faster than the EVO 850 or not. What was important for me was to be able to use my online gmail account like I was used to. And it did. Im very happy with that swap. As for my EVO 850, I got it re-purposed in another rig where Id enjoy its fast speed.

Fast and reliable SSD with a 10-year warranty. Better than Samsung SSD in software as Samsung cloning does not support non-Samsung recovery partitions. So if you want to clone your disk to ssd and keep say a Sony revovery partition, the Sandisk comes with Acronis WD edition that supports cloning/resizing all partitions from source to destination drive. One note, that since it is a WD edition of Acronis, it will not install if it doeasnt detect Sandisk/WD drive. So make sure your external USB to SATA does not hide the name of the drive(like in Device manager) otherwise Acronis will not install. I had bought a Dugol enclosure that did that and it did not work with acronis. I had to use my old Rosewill enclosure to get it to work. After cloning my original disk to it, I installed the Sandisk Extreme pro in my Sony laptop and it worked flawlessly and it is very fast!

I felt burned by Samsung and their 840 EVO SSD. Latest fix requires machine to be always on to make sure data is moved around -- to prevent read slowdown. And the slowdown isnt from 1 week old stale data -- so I dont know how review websites can rate the fix. In fact, the review sites were wrong the first time Samsung released a fix -- hence Samsung came out with yet another fix. Samsung does not want to support or provide a path to 840 PRO or 850 EVO/PRO line ... even if you are willing to pay the difference. Ive been extremely pleased with this SSD. Consistently fast.

I chose this drive after reading Toms Hardware reviews for best performance for value SSDs. So far so good. I use it in a desktop setup, and Windows 8.1 boots so fast you barely have time to see the loading screen. Plus there is so much space on the drive that I dont have to be picky about what programs I install. I still have a 1TB HDD for long-term data storage, but its getting closer to the point where I might forgo HDD altogether if SDD storage keeps getting larger and more affordable.

Would have given 5 stars IF there was decent support on website or included with SSD. Tried to install (clone) on Win10 laptop using the Sandisk Installation kit. It doesnt work so save your money!! I ended up downloading a trial/demo copy of Paragon Backup and Recovery 15. It worked perfectly. It worked so well I purchased a copy from them. Once installed the Sandisk Extreme Pro works EXTREMELY well. Good product BUT lacking documentation and installation support.

The perfect replacement product. I have an older Dell Studio XPS Laptop that had a 300GB HD running on Vista. To say that it was maddening was an understatement. Instead of buying a new Laptop, I opted for this SSD and W7 Ultimate for the OS. Wow, what a difference, it is like new, yet better.. This SSD is the perfect Laptop replacement. Installation was a breeze, included spacer fit perfectly, I had the W7 ISO ready, closed up the Laptop, slid in the W7 DVD and we are off to the races. Installation went perfectly, When all was said and done, before applications, I have >450GB available. Boot up time, from OFF is amazing, about 13 seconds. Anyone considering an SSD upgrade, this should be very high on their list.

This thing is great - and Im a Samsung bigot/fan. I wish it was 1TB instead of the odd 960GB. This means transfers can be cumbersome and take more steps than a direct disk copy. Thats my biggest beef. The system I put this in boots super quick, the drive is of course silent. Its almost as fast as my other Samsung Evo Pro SSDs!

This would have cost me $699 anywhere else. I got it for a steal. It was simple to clone my old HDD and install this product without any glitches whatsoever. My computer now has all the speed and memory I could wish for. I plan to use this drive for a very long time. For those wondering, this is a 7mm drive with the SATA III connector. It comes with a piece you can attach in case you need it to fit a deeper 9mm slot, which I didnt. I spent the extra $$ to have it shipped overnight (1 day shipping). I got it the next afternoon, as promised, without any damage.

I did a side by side of two Dell e6540 laptops (brand new, same image, specs, etc). Only difference was the SSD and the HDD. The HDD was getting around 100 MB/s seq read and 95 MB/s seq write. On the SSD I get around 515 MB/s seq and 485 MB/s write. The SSD system is very snappy whereas the HDD will spin frequently. I went with this SSD over the Samsung based on the reviews from Anand Tech and Toms hardware. I did check prices today however and the Samsung 850 EVO 250GB is only 89 bucks. I bought this one last week for 130 but it is 119 today. If money is tight and youre trying to get the absolute biggest bang for your buck, you might want to look into the Samsung but if you want the best, I dont think youll be disappointed in this at all. If Anand and Tomshardware recommend it and claim its the best, you cannot go wrong.
