11-06-2025This worked out perfect for me. I used this KVM switch to hookup two Old Macs. A Sawtooth G4 and a Quicksilver G4 to an old Sharp LCD monitor. Everything hooked up easily; the Sawtooth Video card has an ADC and VGA connector. The Quicksilver Has an ADC and DVI connector; I used the DVI to VGA adapter that came with that Video card to attach it to the KVMs video connector. The Sharp plugged right into the KVM switch. Plugged the USB for both Macs for the mouse and the Keyboard in, turned everything on and after three tries at the keystroke timing to invoke the Hot Keys mode I hit the T key and it was programmed to switch. To our surprise it keeps the Hot Key setting even after you shut down so we only had to do it once. Didnt need to call tech support at all. Note about the Mac keystroke timing to invoke the Hotkey Mode. Do it quick: Press Clear key/Press Minus key/Release Minus key/ Release Clear key thats all it took. The first two tries were spent trying to follow the instructions using a watch for timing. I did it on the third try without looking at the seconds on a watch. The IOGear 2-Port MiniView Micro USB PLUS KVM Switch was easy to set up. Works perfectly with Macs even old ones. Performs exactly as advertised.

> 3 dayhad to buy a new mouse... at first, it looked like the switch wasnt going to work. It turned out to be an old technology mouse. We bought a new mouse and the switch works like a dream.

> 3 dayWorks like a charm.. Connected a win7 desktop pc and a macbook pro retina.. Using a wired usb keyboard and microsoft sidewinder wireless mouse.. No issues. On the pc the back and forward keys on the mouse works fine.. I was not expecting this to work as iogear emphasizes that they can only guarantee operation of a standard 3 button mouse.. .Smart move by iogear to not include the mic port as most of laptops and webcams have mic. One extra cable was avoided. Switching between the mac and pc works flawlessly.. Audio switching is also very smooth and there is no disturbance or any kind of noise. I only use this device for keyboard, mouse and audio. I do not use the video functionality as my monitors are runing off dvi. One little caveat that i noticed is that the audio output is kind of low. By output i mean that i have to crank the volume on my speakers higher than normal. No disturbance and the quality of sound seems to be acceptable..

> 3 dayI recently purchased a Dell D820 Notebook and wanted some way to take advantage of using the monitor and keyboard I was already using with my Dell desktop. I could have purchased a Docking Station, but that would have precluded the use of my desktop which was not really an option as I still needed access to the desktop. A KVM was a great solution, and the IOGGEAR 2 Port Compact USB KVM Switch (GCS632U) is a great KVM. Set up was very quick and easy. Just hook up the cables correctly and power up the computers. No software to install! Operation is very simple and straight forward. My only concern was not realizing that since the resolution setting of my notebook is much higher than the monitor can handle, you must lower the resolution to that of the monitor. Otherwise, working two computers - my desktop and notebook - at the same time using a single keyboard, mouse, and monitor is great. The GCS632U accomplishes exactly what I had hoped it would do!

> 3 dayFor the money this is a very solid KVM switch. It gets a little funky when you have wireless keyboard/mouse combo sometimes. Sometimes I have to switch the wireless receiver from port to port on the KVM switch to wake it up, but it rarely happens at least for me. For the money, you cannot beat this deal.

Greater than one weeki have a linux desktop and a windows laptop with one LCD screen, one usb keyboard and a usb mouse. So i got this one and it has been working great always, simple way to switch between machines and has an led indicator to know whats active. Sometimes i gets hanged (happened about 3 times over 4 months) and i am not sure if its because of my linux desktop, things seem to work fuzzy with linux at times, otherwise no complains

> 3 dayI have a wireless keyboard and mouse which both use the same receiver and wanted to use this to connect a Mac running OS X and a PC running both Windows and Linux, so I was a bit worried about compatibility. Well, everything worked perfectly. Even the hotkeys for controlling itunes and web browsers on the keyboard worked. I know some people have complained about the audio quality, but though I dont use either computer for playing loud music or have particularly high quality speakers, I didnt notice any problem with audio quality. I almost always find something that I dont quite like about everything I buy, but in the two months I have been using this KVM, I have found only good things to say.

> 3 dayI purchased this product so that I could use my laptop and desktop with the same wireless keyboard/mouse and monitor. The initial setup was tricky, in that the scroll lock key wouldnt work properly at first. But after rebooting both computers, everything has worked right. One additional bonus that I found is this. Since Im using a wireless keyboard/mouse, I only needed to use one USB port on the KVM switch. So, I hooked my webcam (Logitech Communicate STX) to the other one. Now, both of my computers have full webcam and mic capabilities through the KVM switch.
