> 3 dayThese spikes are exactly what I needed. They fit snugly over my boots and provide superior traction over ice. My only minor complaint are that the little hooks that hook the links together ( I think there are 4 on each foot ) are not bent all the way down and so they unhook and come loose. This is fixed with a pair of pliers and about 5 minutes, just clamp the hooks completely closed so they cant unhook. Other than that these have been working great, they are easy to put on and they stay put, youll forget theyre even on after a while.

11-06-2025Best product on the market for Running the ski mountain. Makes me love the hard ice on the way up and not be scared to death coming down. 17 Summits since purchase and I couldnt be more pleased. Kahtoola should sponsor our mountain group and Winter Wild in NH.

> 3 dayThese are simply the best traction device on the market. They are light enough that you will hardly notice that they are on your feet, while being sturdy enough that you wont have to. I hiked up Mt. Leconte with these this weekend, and they performed marvelously. While one of my friends was practically sliding down the mountain, I felt sure-footed. I would recommend these to a friend.

> 3 dayA great option for dealing with slippery conditions. After 3 inches of ice fell in Indianapolis, IN, and no melting temps in sight, I needed serious help in order to walk my dog 3 times a day. There are a number of options for ice cleats and varying reviews on Amazon, but after good reviews I decided to purchase these MICROspikes. Im so glad that I did because they certainly have saved me from slips and falls. I definitely recommend them for others like me who dont plan on doing any snow mountain hiking, but just need a way to get around when winter rears its ugly head. I wear a size 14 or 15 shoe (depending on the brand), so I purchased the XL size to fit my New Balance 1500 snow boots as well as my other shoes. The fit is great on my boots. It can be a little loose on my more narrow running shoes. The L size may be a better fit for other tall guys with narrow feet. Some tips after purchase: 1.) Practice putting them on and taking them off while sitting. The rubber is of high quality, but it can be difficult to adjust when working against rubber soles. 2.) Then practice putting them on while standing because this is a different experience. 3.) After you have them on, REMEMBER you have 3/8 cleats on your feet, and this can ruin some types of flooring. Put down a thick rug or something to protect your floors. 4.) For this reason, youll likely want to put them on right before or after you walk out the door. 5.) Practice walking on non-icy/non-snowy surfaces like concrete or asphalt. The abrupt change between surfaces can throw off your balance. NONE of the above tips should be interpreted as negatives in any way. Again, youre putting cleats on your feet, so you have to be ready to walk on them. I just realized that had I thought about it a little more, I could have saved some frustration. Im happy to pass on my experiences to future purchasers. Great product Kahtoola!

Greater than one weekThese worked fantastic for my hike up some soft snow areas and packed ice, but make sure you fit these *perfectly*. Another hiker in my group had ones that were too large or not properly equipped and both ended up falling off (somewhere) and we had to assist them for the rest of the hike. You do not want to be in a situation where you need these and lose them half way through the trip, it is extremely dangerous. I would also recommend pulling these off for large rocky areas or avoiding such areas if possible or else you can damage the spikes. They are easy enough to put on and take off that I would recommend just tossing them on your bag with a clip to keep them easily accessable.

> 3 dayI just ran a winter trail run 10K. Conditions were snow and ice, about 5inches, and terrain was hilly with some really steep embankments. Part of the trail run crossed an ice covered lake. I wore the Kahtoola MICROspikes and Im glad I did! I had great traction both climbing steep slopes and on twisting downhill segments. I never slipped during the 10 K, but i cant say the same for some of my fellow trail runners. I saw a fair number losing traction and at least one casualty with what appeared to be a broken ankle (Yikes!). I have a friend who let me borrow a pair of Yak Trax for a 5 K in similar conditions, and I felt the MICROspikes were definitely better for traction. They are easy to slip on and dont require a strap over the instep of my shoes. I highly recommend them!

Greater than one weekAmazing cleats! I never feel at risk yo fall wearing these. Have taken them on a couple sidewalk trips, but also a few winter hikes on rougher terrain and they are absolutely worth the price!
