> 3 daythese spikes are worth every penny because: 1- they are EASY to slip over your boots 2- they allow me to effortlessly and safely run, hike, jump on icy trails with 3 huge dogs leashed to my backpack 3- they dont EVER trip me up enough said. so if you want to hike on the late season icy trails without missing a beat, use these cleats. good for ice fishing too

> 3 dayThese microspikes are total game changers when on ice. Used them hiking in the Grand Canyon. The top 1/4 mile of the trail was covered in ice and it was like walking on normal dry ground with these microspikes on. Easy to put on and take off also.

> 3 dayBought the XL for my size 11 pack boots. Fit great and are much better than the cheaper versions I have bought before. Never made it more than a few outings before they would tear, break, or get lost. Bought the red ones, they are easier to see in the dark to put on. Suck it up and spend the extra money, youll be happy.

> 3 dayI run on snowshoes, yaktrax and now Kahtoolas. While the Kahtoola microspikes are well made, easy to use and durable, they have a possibly fatal flaw. There is a significant and I feel dangerous hole in spike coverage in the center of the back of the heel. The first time I ran with them, all was well because there was a some fresh snow. But when I was running on icy surfaces (which these were designed for given the huge spikes), I was motoring along in blissful ignorance until I headed downhill heel-first. My leg shot out from under me since no metal came in contact with the ice. It scared me to death! If you look at the pic here, you will easily see the dangerous hole in coverage. To avoid slipping, I had to run downhill landing either flatfooted or on my toes to make sure I stick to the ground. Frightening. I plan on modifying my kahtoolas with an extra wire pulling the chains closer together base of the heel like what was done at the toe. I cannot believe that this hole in coverage was not addressed earlier. Unless of course, the primary users/designers dont really run on icy mountains but rather on flat crusty trails. Yet, given the huge spikes and aggressive appearance, its too bad that the heel is so unprotected given that almost every step downhill lands on or near the heel. Oh, but uphill, these things scream. But looking at the picture of the spikes while I write this, I wonder if I put them on backwards it would help since the extra wire connector at the toe was likely a fix from lack of coverage on that end of the shoe.

> 3 dayIf you are looking for something more than just grippers to get around town, these are the best that Ive found. Great for winter hiking, when crampons would be overkill.

> 3 dayThese worked well on 3 trips into the high peaks of the ADK this year. My friend wore these microspikes and he was able to get where I went with my sturdier and longer Hillsound Trail Pro Crampons. in the lover elevations with less ice he glided along while I had to choose between slippery boots or my spikes on slush covered rocks. He struggled at the peak while I had no issues up or down the ice. I think I will get a set for lower elevations and switch if needed. We both agreed they are a good buy.

> 3 dayI love trail running and these make it possible for me to go all winter long. I have run on snowy and icy trails with these for the past 5 years. The spikes give incredible grip and I can run, really run, in slick and icy conditions. I LOVE my spikes. They are still in great shape. At the time I felt like they were expensive, but they are so worth it!
