This drive is the fastest out there. The migration software that comes with it makes it super easy to migrate off any HD to the new one. Once you turn on RAPID using the Magician Software that comes with it makes it even faster. Dont believe me download any HD benchmark test and it blows everything else out the door. I am super happy with this Drive so far.

I got tired of my old HDD, and this is so fast that I actually miss the loading times, well I dont miss the loading by I miss reading the loading screens and being somewhat productive for 30 or so seconds. There was no lost or corrupted files in the transfer and Samsung has software to guide you through the whole process.

It took some work to figure out formatting and data transfer for my mid-2010 Macbook pro, and I no longer remember what the final trick was. However, now that its installed its a notable improvement over the old spinning hard drive. Much faster and quieter.

Worked perfectly out of the box. Cloned old ssd and transferred info to this and boots perfectly.

Thought samsung magician 4.8 update will support window 10, so brought 850 ssd. But Samsung data migration software (not magician) failed to recognize ssd. I searched google, find same issue with window 10 exist for some time now. Update: for data migration to work with window 10, need to update to version 3. Will raise overall experience to 3 stars.

replaced my HDD in a DELL XPS 1645 and used the software Samsung provided to transfer the data. Everything went well and this SSD is so much faster. Well satisfied so far.

Ive now used Samsung SSD in three different computers and in each case the performance improvement has been marked. Having used both the Basic and Pro models I would save my money for any future home use and stick with the Basic. I use the Pro model in a studio machine (ProTools) and would always spring the cash for the Pro in a production machine. I installed this unit in a Mac Mini and have installed these in a Mac Pro and iMac without a problem - use the guides at ifixit.

This is one of the fastest and reliable SATA III SSDs you can get. I have gotten two of these over the years. The OS boots lightning fast and so do all applications. I highly recommend this SSD, especially with the prices going a bit down on these.
